HKU-CDS Launches First Dual-Site Semester Across Hong Kong and Shanghai
The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) of the The University of Hong Kong has launched its first dual-site semester, marking a major step in advancing cross-border education in computing, data science, and artificial intelligence.
Beginning in the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, students in the Tech Immersion Fellowship programme are studying across HKU’s main campus and the newly opened HKU-CDS Shanghai Teaching and Research Site, officially activating the School’s “one school, two teaching sites” model.
Located in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, the Shanghai Site integrates advanced teaching and research facilities with direct exposure to one of China’s leading innovation ecosystems. The Site supports immersive learning for undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students, and enables closer engagement with industry partners through seminars, internships, and applied projects.
From 19 January to 26 April 2026, more than 200 CDS students will participate in this landmark semester, reinforcing CDS’s commitment to innovative, globally connected education and talent development.
