[Promotion of the ISA Hiking 2018]

Relieve stress after mid-terms with a nice hike with us! Treat yourself to physical exercise, majestic views and local dimsum! This scenic trail starts at Ma On Shan Country Park, passes through the scenic Ngong Ping Plateau and ends in Tai Shui Tseng.

Distinguished lecture with Professor Wong on 12th December

We would like to thank Professor Wong for taking time out her hectic schedule and walk us through the history of Hong Kong and how the local identity of Hong Kong come about.

And we definitely had a great night with those attended the lecture, not to mention the pizza and special Christmas cake.

[Hiking Trip]

CS folks, we are going to hike the "Ridge of the Eight Immortals" next Monday, it's the one right across our uni. The scenery is very mesmerising, hope you'll be able to join us.

Gathering place: Before Statue of Liberty, CUHK (near University MTR station)
Dismissal time: about 1400

PLEASE PREPARE...

[To all CUHK Students],

Do you also find it difficult it to get a full overview of what student societies exist on campus?
… and do you also find it difficult to distinguish the societies from each other?
… and did you last semester end up not joining any because you did not know any better?

If so, you are far from alone…

BUT we in the Cosmopolitan Society believe that joining student activities is one of the most powerful, genuine, and lasting ways cross-cultural interaction can be encouraged.

Therefore we are currently collaborating with the Student Union of CUHK to create a complete ‘Student Society Handbook’ in which all societies* at CUHK will be included irrespective of their previous registration with the CUSU.

Contesting 'Taboos and Stereotypes'
On May 27th the second session of 'Cosmopolitan Chats at PKU' took off and over 20 individuals from over 10 countries took part in sharing they views on 'societies in comparison'.

At Peking University a Park is named '静园' (Park of Silence). However, on May 13th this park was everything but silent when a cosmopolitan gathering was held to encourage conversations between internationals and locals otherwise muted.

20 individuals from 9 countries took part in kick-starting this tradition of 'speaking to someone you don't know about something unfamiliar".

Maybe this could inspire other 'gatherings' to be held elsewhere over the summer?
