Prof Geng Cui, Professor of the Department of Marketing and International Business at Lingnan University, and his research team have constructed the first-ever "Hong Kong-Chinese Mainland Economic Integration Index (1990-2019)."

The index reveals the positive effect of economic integration on the Hong Kong economy, while highlighting significant challenges to economic development and governance in the SAR. Details of the findings have been announced in various media such as Asia Research News, Yahoo Finance, and European Business Magazine.

The Faculty of Business is pleased to announce that a team of four Lingnan undergraduate business students representing Hong Kong have won the CGMA Global Business Challenge 2022 (North Asia). Prior to winning this competition, the team outperformed 7 of the best student teams in Hong Kong to become the representative team for Hong Kong in the North Asia final.

The four students are Lau Lok-tin (Year 3 BBA-Finance), Lee Cheuk-wun (Year 4 BBA-Human Resource Management), Chong Yuen-yau (Year 3 BBA-Human Resource Management) and Aaron Cheuk Hiu-fung (Year 3 BBA-Marketing). Aaron Cheuk Hiu-fung also received Best Future Business Leader Award for his exceptional performance.

The Faculty of Business has some very exciting news to share! Our Faculty has achieved outstanding results in the Research Grants Council's 2022-23 General Research Fund (GRF). Twelve out of twenty-two submissions were accepted by the Council. The success rate of 54.5% is the highest in the Faculty's entire history. In total, the Faculty received over 5 million HKD from the Council to fund innovative research.

In addition, Lingnan University ranks second out of the eight public universities in Hong Kong for the success rate of GRF submissions to the Business Studies Panel. This result is an unmistakable indicator of the research strength of Lingnan University and the Faculty.

The Faculty of Business is pleased to announce the recent establishment of the Greater Bay Area Insurance Development Research Centre and the Greater Bay Area Insurance Talent Training Base. The two initiatives were jointly developed by the Faculty of Business, Foshan University, and China Taiping Insurance Holdings. They aim to support innovative research in the fields of finance and insurance and contribute to the rapid development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

We are excited to share that three disciplines of Lingnan University (LU) ranked China top 10 in Research.com's 2022 Top Universities Rankings. These rankings are based on h-index performance and bibliometric indicators.

Notably, among top universities in China, LU ranked 8th in Economics and Finance and 9th in Business and Management. The ranking results once again demonstrate the research strength of LU and the Faculty of Business.

We are pleased to share that in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022, Lingnan University showed significant improvements in international academic reputation. Of the academic disciplines from Lingnan University that are in the 2022 subjects, 50% improved their positions in the rankings.

Notably, in the category "Citations Per Paper", "Business and Management Studies" is the subject in which Lingnan University earned the highest score (85.6). This indicates the strength of the Faculty of Business's research output. The Faculty will continue to strive to provide quality business education and conduct high-impact research.

We are pleased to share the exciting news that a team consisting of four undergraduate students from our BBA programme—Miss Nuo HUANG (BBA-Finance), Mr Haohong JIANG (BBA-Finance), Mr Ziheng LIN (BBA-Accounting), and Miss Jijing XIAO (BBA-Finance)—won the championship for the 2021 S&P Global Market Intelligence Corporate Valuation Challenge Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. They represented Lingnan University in this competition and were selected as the winners by a committee made up of S&P Global Market Intelligence product and commercial specialists.
