One of our students is conducting a PhD study on identification strategies people use in multicultural context and is looking for research participants. A big thank you to everyone who attended our staff and student welcome event yesterday as well our PhD students who shared posters of their research. We hope it was an informative session for you. We would also like to thank the faculty staff who gave their time for the event, UL's Psychology Society members and also Dr Lorraine O Connor and Mia Daly for giving their own personal accounts of where their Psychology degree took them.

📰 Check out this recent article in the New York Times written by Sarah Wildman which features research by our faculty staff and students. It looks at 'after-death communication' or what some have called 'bereavement hallucinations'. The researchers found that a majority of those who reported experiencing the sensation of their lost loved one had had some sort of “emotionally restorative experiences that contributed to coping with their grief.”

📅 The event is taking place on Monday 28th September from 12:00pm - 1:30pm.

❓ This event provides an opportunity for staff and students to meet informally and get to know each other without the pressure of time schedules and the daily rush.

There are over 120 women's sheds dotted around the country providing a space where women of all ages and backgrounds meet regularly to share skills, learn from experts, do creative activities or simply have a cup of tea and a chat.

On the RTÉ Brainstorm podcast, UL's Dr Megan Vine spoke to Ronan Kelly about her research on women's sheds and the importance of these spaces for social connection and well-being.
