The Department of Environmental Sciences, Central University of Jammu under the esteemed leadership of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Organized one day symposium where internationally acclaimed Atmospheric Scientist Prof. Viney Aneja from the Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences, North Carolina State University, USA delivered lecture and interacted with students.

Prof. Aneja delivered a lecture titled “Is Nitrogen the Next Carbon?: Impacts on Air Quality, Climate and Human Health.” He highlighted how reactive Nitrogen is emerging as a global environmental challenge, influencing air quality, climate systems, and public health. Prof. Aneja emphasized the urgent need for integrated strategies to manage nitrogen pollution and its cascading environmental effects.

The Department of National Security Studies (NSS), Central University of Jammu (CUJ) under the esteemed patronage of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Jain, organized ICSSR sponsored Two-Day International Seminar on “Security in the Changing World Order: Challenges and Responses”.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Jain commended the department for organizing an intellectually enriching and timely discourse. Reflecting on the dynamics of international relations, he underscored the enduring principle that a nation has no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests. Prof. Jain emphasized the responsibilities that every individual bears toward the nation, particularly in an era marked by evolving security challenges. He highlighted the need for citizens to remain aware, vigilant and committed to safeguarding national integrity, especially at a time when the country continues to confront the persistent threat of terrorism.
In his valedictory address, Prof. Rajiv Nayan offered an incisive analysis of the rapidly evolving world order. He highlighted how shifts in global polarity, ongoing processes of securitization, and the persistent inevitability of conflicts define the contemporary international environment.

The annual sports meet Anant Khel 2025 of Central University of Jammu was held with high enthusiasm from 13th November to 15th November 2025 with participation of more than 1500 students and 100 faculty members across various sporting events in the University Campus.

Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the university, graced the occasion. He congratulated the medal-winning students, and underscored the growing sports facilities in the university. He advised the students to imbibe the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Central University of Jammu and VBUSS jointly hosts a One Day National Symposium

The Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu and Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan ((VBUSS) successfully organized One Day National Symposium on “Shiksha Ka Bharatiya Marg: Lajja Ram Tomar Ji Ke Shaikshik Darshan Aur NEP 2020 Ka Samvad”. The event brought together distinguished stakeholders-faculty members, research scholars, and students from various universities and higher education institutions.

The event was graced by the presidential address by the Chief Guest of the event Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, CU Jammu. He highlighted the importance of integrating digital technology in education system along with Indian rootedness. Prof. Jain emphasized that such events aim to strengthen discourse around holistic, value-based, and culturally rooted education. He also emphasized upon the Panchpadi Vidhi and its necessity in Indian as well as global education.

The key speaker of the event was Sh. Sanjay Ji (Social thinker), who deliberated on the importance of Panchpadi Shikshan Vidhi and its five steps Aditi, Bodh, Abhyas, Prayog and Prasar. He stressed that Sh. Lajja Ram Tomar Ji’s educational ideas serve as an inspirational pathway for promoting character formation, moral education, and humanistic values. He called upon the youth to enhance their engagements and participation in leading the country in right direction. He stressed that the vision of Lajja Ram Tomar Ji needs to be propagated in different schools of the region for which various activities will be organized in future involving all the stake holders.

The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Rashtriya Geet “Vande Mataram”.

Central University of Jammu Celebrated International Mother Earth Day 2025. The event was organized on the global theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” aimed at empowering individuals, especially the youth to take meaningful action toward a sustainable future. The program “Prakriti, Paryavaran aur Urja: Nai Chetna ke Saath” (“Nature, Environment and Energy: With a New Consciousness”), began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Sh. Umendra Dutt, Executive Director, Kheti Virasat Mission, Punjab, was the chief guest on the occasion. Sh. Dutt addressed the gathering on the importance of reviving indigenous ecological knowledge and sustainable agriculture. He urged students to embrace eco-friendly lifestyles and become agents of environmental transformation.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu in his Presidential address, urged students to take the message of sustainability beyond the campus. He appreciated the contributions of research scholars and the dedication of the non-teaching staff in making the celebration a success.

The seminar was held under the visionary leadership of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, and witnessed the participation of eminent academicians, researchers and policymakers from across the country.
