The fourth oldest college of undivided Assam, Madhab Choudhury College (M.C.College), Barpeta was established in 1939 in pre-independent India when the entire nation rose united against the colonial rule. Since then the college has been undergoing a relentless process of growth and today is a premier institute of higher learning in North-East India offering higher secondary and degree level educat
ion in Arts and Science stream. The college is determined in its efforts to provide students with apt facilities for a composite learning environment. Greater emphasis is laid on introducing more programmes of contemporary relevance now, side by side with traditional academic programmes.
