🎓 Alumni Talk | From College DBMS to Cloud Lakes
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering(DCSE), in collaboration with the Directorate of Alumni Affairs, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus, successfully organized an Alumni Talk on 20 March 2026 titled “From College DBMS to Cloud Lakes.”
The session was delivered by our distinguished alumna Ms. Mathura Bhargavee (Batch 2019–2023), currently working as a Data Engineer at Fractal Analytics.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Golda Dilip, Head of the Department, followed by the felicitation by Dr. C. V. Jayakumar, Dean (FET) .
💡 During the session, the speaker shared her inspiring journey from mastering Database Management Systems (DBMS) during her academic years to working with advanced cloud-based data lake technologies in the industry. She emphasized:

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, CSI Student Chapter, SRMIST Vadapalani (in association with IEEE Computer Society) organized a seminar on “Your Roadmap to Becoming a GSoC Contributor” on 12 March 2026 at CSE Lab 2.
The session was delivered by Mr. A Chanandhi, M., Advanced Analyst at EY, who shared valuable insights on building personal projects, mastering Git and GitHub, contributing to open-source, understanding the GSoC timeline, and writing effective project proposals.
The seminar provided students with a clear roadmap to start their open-source journey and prepare for GSoC participation.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Emerging Technologies), SRMIST Vadapalani, proudly presents the highlights of HackForage'26 — a 24-hour hackathon held on 9–10 March 2026 that redefined the boundaries of student-driven innovation.
Uniting 395+ students, 90+ teams, and 34 institutions across 30 real-world problem statements, the event fostered a dynamic environment of creativity, collaboration, and technological excellence. The programme was further enriched by the valuable insights of cybersecurity leader Ms. VimalaaSree Anandhan, Poshmak, and witnessed the landmark launch of the Ensora AI Bot — an AI-powered interview practice platform developed by Mr. Ravinandhan, IV CSE (AIML).

The Department of CSE – Emerging Technologies, under the SRMVDP ACM Student Chapter, proudly hosted a Workshop on "Navigating the Modern Cyber Threat Landscape" on 10th March 2026 at Lab 3, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Vadapalani.
The session was led by distinguished industry experts — Mr. Pragadeesh R K, Researcher at Necurity Solutions Network Security Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Sreenivas Jawahar, Founder of Cyber Kalvi & CTO of Necurity Solutions Network Security Pvt. Ltd. — who delivered profound insights into the ever-evolving domain of cybersecurity.
Participants explored critical topics including Ethical Hacking Methodology & the Kill Chain, along with Cyber Threats, Vulnerabilities & Risk Fundamentals, gaining hands-on perspectives on real-world attack strategies and robust defensive practices.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM-IST Vadapalani Campus, was privileged to host a Guest Lecture on "Robotics in Precision Engineering and Surgical Applications" on 10th March 2026. The session was expertly delivered by Dr. P V Sabique, Founder & CEO, Pixelbotix, Chennai — a visionary leader at the forefront of robotic innovation.
The lecture offered students a compelling journey through the evolution of robotics, from manual surgery to robotic-assisted procedures, while spotlighting the three core pillars of Spatial Resolution, Accuracy, and Precision. Dr. Sabique shed light on real-world applications spanning Photolithography, Aerospace Component Machining, Electronic Assembly, Integrated Metrology, and Automotive Engine Assembly.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology – Vadapalani, in association with The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF), Chennai Chapter, proudly organised Foundry Connect 2026 — an IIF Student Chapter Induction and Technical Talk.

We are immensely proud to celebrate Ms. Dhershini, a student of III B.Tech Computer Science and Business Systems, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Emerging Technologies), SRM IST Vadapalani, who graced the prestigious TEDxMSAJCE stage at Mohamed Sathak A.J. College of Engineering, Chennai, on February 18, 2026.
