The University School of Law and Legal Studies of the University hosted the All India National History Congress over three days in collaboration with the All India Association for Legal History, Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), NRC-ICSSR, and the Centre for Legal Studies, WBNUJS. This event is a momentous occasion in legal history, convening legal scholars and historians of international repute.
The Conference witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, notably Hon’ble Madam Justice (Retd.) Indira Banerjee, Prof. (Dr.) V. S. Elizabeth, President of the All India Association of Legal History, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor of NLU Delhi, and eminent academicians Professor Janaki Nair and Dr. Bikramjit Dey. Additionally, representatives from ICSSR, Dr. Richa Sharma and Shri Ajay Gupta, added to the august gathering. The event symbolized a convergence of erudition and expertise, marking a notable stride in the field of legal history.

The ADR Cell of University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University organised the second edition of Madhyastha, their intra-college mediation competition on 16th-17th January,2023. The event is held for the First Year Students so that they can flourish, build their skills and become familiar with the process of mediation. With over 100 participants, 50 judges, 30 volunteers the competition was a huge success, all thanks to the Organising Committee, who were on their toes constantly, fretting over the most minute details before the competition. The competition was held in offline mode at USLLS, GGSIPU. The Preliminary and The Quarter Final Rounds were held on 16th January and the Semi - Finals and Final Rounds were held on the 17th January. The final rounds were judged by Dr.Nidhi Gupta, Associate Professor, NLU Delhi, Radikha Dubey, Independent Counsel, JP Sengh, Senior Advocate. The event was organized under the leadership of Prof. Queeny Pradhan, Dean USLLS, Dr.Vandana Singh and Dr. Zubair Ahmed Khan as faculty coordinators.

University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGS IPU organized The two day International Conference on the Theme “ The Unrooted identities of Nomadic People: The Issues of Structural Marginalization and Struggle Status on 9th & 10th January,2023. The event was organized with an objective to provide an academic platform for deliberations among the Anthropologists, Sociologists, young activist and members of legal fraternity. The conference also had different paper presentation on developmental issues with a focus on violation of basic citizenship rights, right of livelihood of nomadic people. The conference also had discussion on policy making decisions and access to benefits of development schemes of nomadic people.

University School of Law & Legal Studies, GGSIPU organized Interactive Session with students of Faculty of Law, Kashmir University on 11th January,2023 from 2.30 pm onwards. The event includes enriched discussion on Legal education and prospects of career for legal professionals among faculty members of USLLS and faculty members & student members of Kashmir University. The interactive session also include discussion on different contemporary issues of law, justice and fair trial.

USLLS organised an online webinar relating to contemporary topic ie., Cyber Hygiene on Internet through online mode on 8th December 2022 in collaboration with Delhi Police Cyber Crime Unit, IFSO (Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations). It was the first event of USLLS celebrating on the beginning of Silver Jubilee Celebrationof GGSIP University. Session started sharp at 6 pm with introduction of experts by Dean Prof. Queeny Pradhan. The expert speakers from Delhi Police Cyber Crime Unit, ACP Sh. H S Randhawa & Inspector Anil Yadav deliberated on various aspects of cyber crime though mobile phone or computers. They suggested safeguards to be taken into consideration while accessing information through internet. The overall objective of program was to create awareness among users about vulnerabilities of technology and to suggest safeguards measures to be taken into consideration while accessing the technology. The webinar was attended by around 126 students. The session lasted for around 80 minutes. Students thoroughly enjoyed the session and benefitted by the interactive mode of deliberation. Program was concluded with Vote of thanks by event coordinator Dr. Gurujit Singh, Associate Professor, USLLS.

USLLS organised an interactive session on the contemporary topic of “Internet Related Sexual Offences” in collaboration with specialised Unit of Delhi Cyber Police, IFSO (Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations) on 05.01.2023. The program commenced at 6 pm online and continued till 7.30 pm. Around 250 students registered for the programme during conduct of programme from various institutions like KCC Institute of Technology & Management, Ideal Institute of Management and Technology, Vivekanand Institute of Professional Studies, USLLS, CPJ College of Higher Studies & School of Law, USE GGSIPU and MAIMS. The experts from Delhi Cyber Police Cell IFSO Sh. Harmeet Randhawa, ACP; Inspector Anil Yadav; SI Anuja deliberated as resource person. The session started with Welcome Address by Prof. Queeny Pradhan, Dean, USLLS. She emphasised on the need to have such programme on regular basis as they are very contemporary issues and need to create awareness regarding it. Sh. Harmeet Randhawa discussed various nature of sexual exploitation on cyber space and need for its proper documentation for proper investigation and enforcement of law. Inspector Anil Yadav elaborated the procedural part of filing complaint regarding sexual offences. He discussed the Delhi Police Cyber Cell initiative for filing online complains of such nature of cases. SI Anuja emphasised the psychological aspect of offender and victim of sexual offences. She suggested the family to provide emotional support to victim and motivate to file complain with proper documentation of incidents. She suggested various safety measures to be taken during such cases and advised to maintain proper cyber hygiene. Students participated in the discussion and asked relevant questions, cleared doubt on various issues and the safety measures to be taken in such cases. The program concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Gurujit Singh, Associate Professor.

It is pleased to share with all of you that Harmeet Singh(Second year student)one of student member of Legal Entrepreneurship & Incubation Cell, USLLS has created a legal app on New Wages Code, 2019. The purpose of creating this legal app is to spread legal awareness among law students and relevant stakeholders on the same subject-matter..The app also provides 50 FAQs in English and Hindi language for the ones who unable to read Hindi or English, they can make use of via audio feature wherein they can get the resolution to their issues in audio format. It also provide a hyperlink to address the grievances related to labour issues to the competent authority. It will also feature YouTube links having video lecture of different experts on labour law for better understanding of legal issues. Value addition course on “Resolving Disputes in the Metaverse”
(29th July 2022 – 2nd August 2022)

From the 29th of July 2022 to 2nd of August 2022, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell at the University School of Law and Legal Studies (USLLS ADR Cell) conducted a Value Addition Course on the topic “Resolving Disputes in the Metaverse”.The course saw participation from various universities and colleges from across the world, which include but are not limited to Kings College London, Istanbul University, Delhi University, Bennett University. The event was officially supported by Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and Careers in Arbitration. The course consisted of various maestros in the field of ADR from various jurisdictions such as the United States of America, United Kingdom,Hong Kong, Singapore,Romania and India, as instructors.
