Architectural Documentation Trip to Sri Sri Parihareshwar Temple at Dubi, Pathsala (Assam), India

The 5th semester Architecture students at Royal School of Architecture, Royal Global University, Guwahati has visited the Sri Sri Parihareshwar Temple at Dubi, Pathsala (Assam) on 20th November2025, for a conservation documentation trip in collaboration with ICOMOS.
Upon arrival at Sri Sri Parihareshwar Temple the team received a comprehensive briefing from Dr. Hari Prasad Agarwal. Rohini Kumar Sarma, the Doloi (Secretary) of the temple, provided insights into its historical and mythological significance. Students engaged in detailed documentation, including architectural analysis, boundary verification, and capturing intricate carvings through sketching, photography, and videography. Throughout the trip, students conducted detailed architectural studies, contextual analyses, and interviews with local historians and temple caretakers
It was a productive and enriching experience for the students, supported by faculty member Prof. Dr. Hari Prasad Agarwal. Dilip Changkakoty, ICOMOS-Northeast Zonal Coordinator Cum Expert member, ICICH (International committee of Intangible Cultural Heritage) & Associate member, ICTC (International committee of Cultural Tourism), Dilip Changkakoty has also shared his expertise with the students. This hands-on experience enhanced the students' skills in architectural documentation and deepened their appreciation of the temple's rich cultural tapestry.

The Royal School of Architecture & Royal School of Design (Interior Design) proudly represented Royal Global University at the BAIC Expo 2025 in Guwahati. Our students showcased a wide array of work, including models, sheets, and creative projects that highlighted both architectural and interior design principles, as well as our ongoing documentation of Assamese architectural heritage. We're grateful for the opportunity to connect with the North East's biggest building and design community and share our students' exceptional talent.

Royal Global University at Real Estate Conclave 2.0 🏛️
Students of 3rd & 4th year B.Arch and B.ID attended the Real Estate Conclave 2.0 by Byatikram Group on 25th July at Hotel Vivanta, Guwahati.

With inspiring sessions on sustainability, green buildings, AI in real estate, and more — the event featured industry leaders like Mr. P.K. Sharma (AREIDA) and Dr. Hari Prasad Agarwal, Dean, RGU, as one of the Guest of Honour.
The students were accompanied by the faculty members Ar. Kasturi Borah (Associate Professor, RSA), Ar. Sanchari Kar (Assistant Professor, RSA) and Ms. Diksha Dutta(Assistant Professor, RSA).

We the faculties and students of Royal School of Design (Department of Interior Design) of The Assam Royal Global University are very happy to inform that one of our students, SRISTHI SARKAR, from the BID batch of 2023, had recently participated in the "13th All Assam Inter District Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls) and Junior (Men& Women) Classic Powerlifting Championship 2024-25" in the 63 kg category held in April 2025 and she has won a silver medal in this state championship.

On April 23, 2025, The Assam Royal Global University hosted a significant World Heritage Day celebration, themed “Heritage Under Threat from Disasters and Conflicts,” in collaboration with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) and the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) India. The event commenced with an exhibition from 1:00-5:00 PM, showcasing a diverse array of heritage conservation, including intricate temple architecture, traditional mukha shilpa (mask-making art), and an exquisite textiles exhibition featuring various handlooms and traditional crafts. Concurrently, a seminar session was held from 3:00-5:00 PM, which started with an introductory speech by Prof. Dr. Shiela Bora, setting the tone for the discussion. This was followed by speech from esteemed speakers Dilip Changkakoti, Coordinator of the Northeast Zone, ICOMOS India and presentations by Ar. Arijit Choudhury, who spoke on ‘Colonial Architecture in the Northeast and its Future’, and Dr. Manjil Hazarika, Convenor of INTACH Kamrup Chapter, who delivered a lecture on ‘Mitigating Heritage Preservation Challenges in Assam: Some Observations’. The seminar session included an engaging Q&A session, allowing attendees to interact with the speakers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and participants, with the overarching aim of raising awareness about the importance of heritage conservation and its significance in preserving our cultural legacy.
