On 5 June 2026, Government Model College, Deithor observed World Environment Day with great enthusiasm. In keeping with the theme, “Inspired by Nature, for Climate, for Our Future,” the programme was jointly organized by the NSS Unit, the Student Affairs Committee, and the MGNCRE Cell of the college.
As part of the celebration, a plantation drive was conducted on the college campus under the leadership of Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Doley, Programme Officer of the NSS Unit. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students.Villagers from the NSS-adopted village, Sarthe Teron (Hanboka), also actively participated in the programme and planted saplings within the college premises, thereby contributing to the plantation drive and demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation.
Later, a speech competition on the theme “We and Our Environment” was organized. The competition was inaugurated by Dr. Phulmoni Das, Principal (i/c), Government Model College, Deithor. A total of 22 students participated in the event and shared their views on environmental conservation and sustainability.
The competition was judged by Dr. Hemanta Sarmah Tamuly, Assistant Professor, Department of English; Dr. Dipak Bhuyan, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology; and Dr. Thoibi Phukan, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese.
Among the participants, Khanindra Barman secured the first position, Noruttam Thengal secured the second position, while Klrabong Engleng and Nayan Das jointly secured the third position.
The programme was moderated by Mr. Priyanku Hazarika, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Government Model College, Deithor.
আজি ৫জুন বিশ্ব পৰিৱেশ দিৱস উপলক্ষে চৰকাৰী আদৰ্শ মহাবিদ্যালয় দেইথৰৰ ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় সেৱা আঁচনি গোট ,ছাত্ৰ পৰিক্ৰমা সমিতি আৰু এম জি এন চি আৰ ই সমিতিৰ উদ্যোগত বৃক্ষৰোপণ কাৰ্যসূচী তথা এখনি বক্তৃতা প্ৰতিযোগিতাৰ আয়োজন কৰা হয় | NSS ৰ কাৰ্যক্ৰম বিষয়া ডঃ ধ্ৰুৱ জ্যোতি দলেৰ নেতৃত্বত বৃক্ষৰোপণ কাৰ্য সম্পাদন কৰা হয় য'ত মহাবিদ্যালয়খনৰ adopted village বা দত্তক গাঁও চাৰথে টেৰণ (হানবকা) গাঁৱৰ লোকসকলে বৃক্ষৰোপণ কাৰ্যসূচীত অংশগ্ৰহণ কৰে । ইয়াৰ পিছত মহাবিদ্যালয়খনৰ ভাৰপ্ৰাপ্ত অধ্যক্ষা ডঃ ফুলমণি দাসে উদ্বোধনী ভাষণ প্ৰদান কৰি বক্তৃতা প্ৰতিযোগিতাখনৰ আনুষ্ঠানিকভাৱে উদ্বোধন কৰে । প্ৰতিযোগিতাত প্ৰায় ২২ গৰাকী ছাত্ৰ ছাত্ৰীয়ে অংশগ্ৰহণ কৰে । প্ৰতিযোগিতা খনিত বিচাৰকৰ আসন অলংকৃত কৰে মহাবিদ্যালয়খনৰ ইংৰাজী বিভাগৰ সহকাৰী অধ্যাপক ডঃ হেমন্ত শৰ্মা তামুলী অসমীয়া বিভাগৰ সহকাৰী অধ্যাপিকা ডঃ থৈবি ফুকন আৰু সমাজতত্ব বিভাগৰ সহকাৰী অধ্যাপক ডঃ দীপক ভূঞাই । প্ৰতিযোগিতাত চাৰিগৰাকী ছাত্ৰ ছাত্ৰীয়ে পুৰস্কাৰ লাভ কৰিবলৈ সক্ষম হয় । অনুষ্ঠানটো পৰিচালনা কৰে সমাজতত্ব বিভাগৰ সহকাৰী অধ্যাপক প্ৰিয়াংকু হাজৰিকাই |
