Self-Defence Training Program 2026

The Self-Defence Training Program was conducted in Model Degree College Nuapada, Khariar from 13.02.2026 to 24.02.2026 under the coordination of Dr. Lipika P. Patra Madam. The program was inaugurated by Dr. A.K. Sahoo, Principal, who highlighted the importance of self-defence in building confidence and ensuring personal safety.

The training sessions were conducted by Master Trainers Mausmi Jagat and Nilima Barik, who provided practical demonstrations and hands-on techniques. Lingaraj Sir explained the benefits of self-defence training and its role in enhancing physical and mental strength. The program received valuable support from Parabin Sir, Adarsha Sir, and Barsha Madam.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Chandrakanta Das, Lecturer in Psychology. The program was highly informative and empowering for all participants.

Teacher Training Programme on Student Counselling

The Counselling Cell of Model Degree College, Nuapada (Khariar) organized a Teacher Training Programme on Student Counselling on 5th February 2022. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal of the college, who emphasized the importance of counselling in promoting students’ mental health and academic success.

The main training session was conducted by Mr. Chandrakanta Das, Lecturer and Counsellor of the College, who served as the resource person. He delivered an insightful and practical session highlighting the need, process, and ethical principles of student counselling. He explained how teachers can identify students’ psychological problems and adopt basic counselling skills such as empathy, active listening, and confidentiality in their daily teaching practices.

Other members of the Counselling Cell, Dr. Lingaraj Sahu, Dr. Lipika Priyadarshini Patra, and Ms. Rashmita Tirkey, also shared their views on common student problems and the role of counselling in addressing them.

The programme was convened by Mr. Prahalada Majhi and concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Rashmita Tirkey, Presiding Officer, Internal Complaints Committee. The training programme was highly beneficial in strengthening teachers’ understanding of student counselling and mental well-being.

A Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized by the Youth Red Cross (YRC) and National Service Scheme (NSS), Model Degree College, Nuapada (MDCN) on 22 January 2026 at Model Degree College, Nuapada, Khariar, with the objective of promoting humanitarian values and social responsibility among students and staff.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Akshya Sahoo, who highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged students and staff to actively participate in such noble causes.
The blood bank staff from Nuapada District Hospital were present during the camp and efficiently conducted the blood collection process, ensuring that all medical protocols and safety measures were strictly followed.
The programme was jointly organized under the guidance of YRC Counsellor Dr. Subasa Chandra Bishwal and NSS Programme Officer Dr. Surendra Kalet, whose leadership played a key role in the smooth conduct of the camp. Active support and assistance were also provided by staff members Mr. Prabin Pattnaik, Mr. Chandra Kanta Das, and Ms. Nibedita Barik, who contributed significantly to the successful organization of the programme.
A total of 16 units of blood were collected during the camp, making the programme a meaningful contribution towards saving lives and supporting the healthcare system.
The camp concluded with a note of gratitude to all donors, organizers, volunteers, and medical staff for their cooperation and commitment to the cause of humanity.
