Spend Some Time Daily to Keep Your Mind Positive !

Positive thoughts save time.

However hard I try to make plans to save time, unless I make a plan to organize my mind, I will continue to lose precious time with waste or negative thoughts. Even not following time schedules creates stress. So instead of focusing on organizing time, I need to save time, by using my thoughts well. Today I will keep a check on my thoughts. I will spend at least 15 minutes throughout the day with something that will keep my mind positive. And I will sustain this for a few days so that I start observing the difference it creates.

It may surprise you that modern nursing -- the care and competency we've come to expect from our medical professionals -- is less than 150 years old in America. Not so long ago, many people preferred to forgo formal health care, considering nurses and hospitals to be far less safe than tending to illness or injury at home.
There was a time that nursing duties fell to nuns, or -- during wars -- to the military. Before the end of the 19th century, most nurses didn't have any formal training -- and many lacked any education at all. Nurses were typically women who provided the sick, injured and wounded with comfort, but not necessarily good -- or any -- medical care. It wasn't until the extraordinary women and men on our list advocated for change and pioneered a path for nurses from bedpan to bachelor's degree that the seeds of modern nursing were born.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)::

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a disease affecting the stomach and intestines in which stomach contents back up into the esophagus.
GERD, also referred to as heartburn, acid reflux, or pyrosis, can be very painful and can wear down the esophageal lining over time.
Start by changing what you eat andhow you eat it.
Eat Slowly:
One of the main causes of heartburn, gas, and indigestion is eating too quickly. If you suffer from GERD, try to eat your meals slowly to avoid swallowing air and filling the stomach too quickly. Take smaller bites and chew completely before you swallow.
Don't Over eat:
If you suffer from acid reflux, you may have noticed that your symptoms are worse after a large meal. Overeating leads to gas, indigestion, and yes, painful heartburn. Try to eat several smallmeals throughout the day rather than three larger ones.
Avoid Heartburn-Causing Foods:
One of the most effective precautions to take with GERDis to watch what you eat. Many foods are known to cause heartburn and acid reflux, such as fatty or greasy foods, spicy food, tomato sauces, citrus fruit, vinegar-based dressings, chocolate, salsa, coffee, sodas, and alcoholic beverages. Foods that are safe to eat include apples, bananas, cabbage, green beans, potatoes, peas, carrots, broccoli, skinless chicken breast, eggs, fish, and low-fat dairy products.
Take Preventive Measures:
One sure way to avoid heartburn pain from GERD is to stop acid problems before they start. There are both prescription and over-the-counter medications which, if taken before a meal, can help reduce the likelihood of an acid attack. One way to prevent heartburn is to drinka daily glass ofbarley grass or wheat grass. Thesedrinks are not only good for your health but should help neutralize the acid in the stomach

HISTORY OF NURSING IN INDIA:
In 1857 the India Mutiny turned Miss Nightingales interest to the health of the Army in India. It was for this purpose the Royal Commission was appointed in 1859. In 1868, a sanitary department was established.
In March 1888, ten qualified British nurses arrived in India to look afterthe British Army in India. In 1905, during the British rule in India, missionary nurses arrived as members of Missionary Medical Association. This was the very start of formalized nursing service in India.
Gradually, the increasing need of adequately trained nurses led to creation of South India Examining Board in 1911 and the North India Examining Board in 1912. It was the mission hospital Nursing leaders who laid the foundation of systematic Nursing education in India. However, the mid India Board of Examination was started in 1934. But this was not regulated for registration. State-wise councils started developing from 1935 onwards. Indian Nursing Council (INC) Act was passed by theParliament in 1947.
The Nursing Council upgraded the educational requirements which permitted onlymatriculated candidates to seek admission to the schools. Now, India has State-wise registration councils in 19 states. ( TNAI yearbook 2000-2001).
The Central Government granted an approval to the Bhore Committee's (1946) recommendations by starting two colleges of Nursing in Delhi (1946) and Vellore (1947). This provided university degree level courses. With the efforts of Professor S. Radhakrishnan (the then Chairman of University Education Commission), Nursing education in the country was integrated into thesystem of higher education.
Over decades, there has been an improvement in the availability of nursing education in India.
