*24×7 Library Deserves 24×7 Hostel Accessibility*

Today, the ABVP Assam University Unit submitted a memorandum to the Dean, Students’ Welfare, Assam University, requesting the extension of hostel movement timings to 24 hours in accordance with the newly extended schedule of the Rabindra Central Library.

The decision to keep the library open 24×7 is a highly appreciable step towards strengthening the academic environment of the university. However, to truly ensure that students can benefit from this facility, hostel students must also be allowed unrestricted movement at all hours.

Research scholars, postgraduate students, and aspirants preparing for competitive examinations often require late-night access to study materials and a peaceful academic atmosphere. Restrictive hostel timings can become a major obstacle in their academic journey.

Keeping this in mind, ABVP has urged the university administration to permit 24-hour hostel accessibility so that students can freely utilize the library and other academic resources without inconvenience.

A significant and much-needed step towards ensuring the safety and security of students has finally begun.

Following continuous efforts and representations before the university administration by the ABVP Assam University Unit, the construction work for the Safety Wall in front of Girls’ Hostel - 5 at Assam University has officially commenced. This initiative will help create a safer, more secure, and protected environment for the hostel residents.

We express our sincere gratitude to the university administration and concerned authorities for taking this important issue seriously and initiating the work. Student welfare, security, and better campus infrastructure will always remain our priority. 🙏🏽

The Inaugural Ceremony of the Capsule Course on UGC NTA NET organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Assam University Unit was successfully held today at Upendra Nath Brahma Hall.

The program was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Barun Jyoti Choudhury, Dean of Students Welfare, Assam University, and Dr. Ajita Tiwari, HOD, Department of Agricultural Engineering, whose inspiring words motivated the participants.

The session marked the beginning of a valuable academic journey for students and research scholars aiming for UGC NET success.

Today, the ABVP Assam University Unit carried out a Voting Awareness Programme by visiting several departments across the university and encouraging students to understand the importance of their vote.
Through direct interaction and outreach, the initiative aimed to inspire responsible, informed, and active participation in the democratic process.

Today, a memorandum was submitted by ABVP Assam University Unit to the Registrar, requesting relaxation in attendance and suspension of formal academic activities from 7th–11th April 2026, with the aim of ensuring 100% student participation in the democratic process.

After a detailed discussion with the Dean, Academics, we sincerely thank Sir for his positive response and for taking the necessary steps in this regard, supporting the spirit of responsible citizenship among students.
