Aim of IPAS 2025
Sustainability must be inclusive, and action must be planetary. IPAS 2025—Inclusive Planetary Action for Sustainability—is built on the principle that the challenges we face are interconnected across societies, economies, and ecosystems. Socioeconomic inequalities, gender disparities, and geopolitical divides should not determine who benefits from sustainability efforts. Instead, we must view the planet as a shared system, transcending borders and ideological divisions to develop solutions grounded in science, justice, and resilience.
This conference serves as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, uniting researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to rethink sustainability through a planetary lens. Our goal is to move beyond fragmented approaches and develop systemic, science-based strategies that are both inclusive and globally relevant.
Conference Scope
IPAS 2025 explores the intersection of sustainability, equity, and planetary resilience. Our key focus areas include:
Planetary and Inclusive Urban Development: Cities must be designed as part of a larger planetary system, ensuring equitable access to housing, transportation, and infrastructure. This means reducing environmental footprints while creating resilient, inclusive urban environments that serve diverse communities, regardless of economic or social status.
Just Energy and Climate Transitions: The transition to renewable energy and climate adaptation must be fair and accessible across different regions and socioeconomic groups. We examine energy justice, global climate governance, and adaptation strategies that prioritize those most vulnerable to climate risks.
Sustainable Health and Well-Being in a Changing Planet: Health is deeply connected to planetary changes, from environmental degradation to climate-induced mental health stress. We focus on equitable healthcare access, aging populations, and the intersection of sustainability and public health, ensuring well-being for all.
Food, Industry, and Economic Transformations for a Sustainable Future: Sustainable food systems, responsible industry practices, and just economic transitions are critical to planetary resilience. We explore circular economy solutions, food security, and policies that balance economic opportunity with ecological responsibility.
Behavioral and Governance Innovations for Planetary Action: Achieving sustainability requires not only technological advancements but also behavioral shifts and governance reforms. We welcome research on science-based policies, behavioral insights, and community-driven approaches that drive meaningful planetary action.
IPAS 2025 invites contributions that bridge disciplines and challenge conventional thinking. By embracing planetary action, we seek to build a sustainability framework that is scientifically grounded, globally inclusive, and equitably implemented—ensuring a just and resilient future for all.
