CLT unit was opened to the public!!

Fukanuma Beach Clean's CLT unit in Arahama was introduced to the public. It was a great pleasure having many people interested in our project. After the opening, we had a talk event regarding beach clean and sustainable architecture and our responsibility for mitigating climate change problems.

深沼ビーチクリーンで、CLTユニットのプレオープン（お披露目）とトークイベントがありました。
「深沼ビーチクリーン　ウッドガレージ」と命名していただき、皆さんと活用法を相談しました。

09/02/2022

2022年1月24日～26日に、​仙台市荒浜の深沼ビーチで、前田研究室開発・設計のCLTコンテナユニットの設置作業を行いました。
東北大学実験所に設置されていたものを移築する形で、設置しました。
今後は、深沼ビーチクリーン様を中心とし皆で、仕上げ作業・管理を行っていきます。

搬出・設置作業をして頂いた、登米町森林組合の會津様、大工・基礎工事の皆様、お手伝い頂いた皆様、ご協力頂きありがとうございました。

The World Conference of Earthquake Engineering(27th Sept ~ 2 Oct) was held in Sendai. This is the largest scientific event in Earthquake Engineering held only once every 4 years. We were hoping to see friends, colleagues, and overseas researchers in Sendai, however, the COVID situation had its influence. Nevertheless, the conference was very well organized in Hybrid mode, with around 3000 papers. Here are some photos from the conference taken by Maeda-lab.

The next WCEE will be in Milan Italy in 2024

The below video shows the beautiful building of the CLT seminar room in the Aobayama campus which the Maeda laboratory played important role in the design and implementation.
I think many of you who visited Maeda's laboratory had many seminars or workshops in the spectacular building

COVID 19 and several conferences cancelled such as JCI (Japan Concrete Institute) annual meeting that was planned in Hiroshima.

Regardless of all challenges. Undergraduate and graduate students and professors of more than 50 members gathered together and arranged a separate Online mini JCI workshop. The mini-workshop mainly arranged by Maeda lab with coordination with respected professors from several universities all over Japan as Osaka University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Osaka City University, Daido University.

Maeda-lab participated in Soft+tech international workshop in Tokyo Tech university on 13th-14th Feb 2020.
There was a also a tour base-isolated and new retrofit techniques of buildings in the campus. Amazing 👌.
The workshop is part of large project called OPERA project to improve seismic resilience of urban areas specially highrise buildings.
