The Busia County Universities and Colleges Students Association (BCUCSA) was proudly represented at the Youth SDGs Week organized by Youth for SDGs Kenya at the Kenya School of Government, Nairobi.

This week-long convention brought together young leaders from across the country to engage on sustainable development, innovation, and youth-driven solutions aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Our participation reflects BCUCSA’s continued commitment to positioning Busia students at the forefront of national and global conversations on sustainability, policy, and development.

From the County Executive Committee to our Directors, Constituency Leadership, Ward Representatives, and the General Assembly, our structure ensures coordination, accountability, and effective representation at all levels.

APPOINTMENT OF OUR PRESIDENT AS STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LEADERSHIP FOR EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE

The Busia County Universities and Colleges Students Association proudly congratulates our President, ALEX WESONGA , upon his appointment by the Vice Chancellor of Kenyatta University to serve as the Official Student Representative in the Leadership for Education for Sustainable Development Implementation Committee.

This prestigious appointment places him alongside distinguished senior lecturers, deans, and academic leaders drawn from various schools within the University to spearhead the integration of Education for Sustainable Development across academic programmes and institutional frameworks.

The LEAD ESD programme, supported by UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa and UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office, is designed to strengthen institutional capacity, advance sustainable development competencies, and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4.7. Through this initiative, Kenyatta University continues to demonstrate leadership in advancing sustainability within higher education in the region.

As an Association, we recognize this milestone not only as a personal achievement for our President, but also as a significant opportunity to amplify the voice of students in shaping sustainable, inclusive, and forward looking policies within the University and beyond. His representation reflects the growing impact of student leadership in contributing to national, regional, and global development agendas.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for the trust and confidence bestowed upon our President. We are confident that he will serve with integrity, dedication, and a strong commitment to advancing sustainability and youth participation in transformative leadership.

YOUTHS FOR PEACE - KENYA | BCUCSA & One Voice Kenya

As part of our partnership with One Voice Kenya, the Busia County Universities and Colleges Students Association (BCUCSA) is proud to mobilize our members to participate in the Youth for Peace Campaign.

This national initiative seeks to promote Peace, Unity, and Justice through online engagement, short peace messages, webinars, and later community peace caravans across the country.

We invite all BCUCSA comrades who are passionate about civic engagement, leadership, and nation-building to join this voluntary movement and be part of shaping a peaceful Kenya.

CONGRATULATIONS OUR DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL

We are proud to share that our Deputy Secretary General, Omukaga Brian , was awarded and recognized by the YETU CBO Awards as an outstanding young leader at Farmview Hotel, Busia, for his outstanding leadership and impactful service.

This recognition comes as a result of his great work within BCUCSA, SET Kenya, and his consistent dedication to youth empowerment and student leadership.

He was joined by members of the BCUCSA leadership team who turned up to celebrate this milestone:
