The Council will serve a three-year term effective November 28, 2025, with a mandate to provide strategic oversight, accountability, and leadership.

The Ministries also nominated representatives to the Council, reinforcing government support for the institution. Ms. Christine Minyuki, OGW, was appointed as an Alternative Member representing the Principal Secretary, State Department for Higher Education, while Mr. Amos Cheptoo was appointed as an Alternative Member representing the Principal Secretary, National Treasury.

Speaking during the ceremony, Professor Estambale emphasized unity and collaboration among the Council, management, staff, students, and the wider community, noting that the Council’s role would be to provide strategic direction to support the university’s growth. “This Council is committed to providing strategic leadership that will allow Kabarnet University to grow with integrity, purpose, and excellence, while working closely with management and the community,” said Professor Benson Estambale, Chairperson of the University Council.
