Advancing Technological Literacy Through Early Innovation

The Digital & Distance Learning Department - General Education at Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) conducted a successful Internet of Things (IoT) seminar at the IIT Regional Centre - Kurunegala, engaging over 150 students from Vishvoda Vidyalaya and Lakdasa De Mel College, Kurunegala.

The session introduced students to practical applications of IoT, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and technology-driven thinking at an early stage. As a leading higher education institute in Sri Lanka, IIT continues to support school-level technology education, guiding students to become confident learners and future contributors to the digital society.

The Digital & Distance Learning Department of Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) conducted an inspiring IoT session for Grade 9 students of St. Paul's Girls School-Milagiriya. As IoT becomes a key component of the Grade 9 ICT syllabus this session helped students to discover how smart devices shape the world we live in.

The students’ energy and curiosity made the session truly remarkable. Their enthusiasm for exploring real-world applications of IoT proved that the next generation of innovators is already stepping forward. Here's to empowering young minds with the skills that will define tomorrow!
