πŸ“Έ Reliving the best kind of field day: Science + Sea + Smiles!

We’re thrilled to share memories from our successfully completed training course:

🐠 "Beyond Snorkeling: A Scientist's Guide to the Shallows"

🌊 SLAFAR, in collaboration with CCCRMD, proudly wrapped up this exclusive hands-on training on Responsible Snorkeling & Shallow Coastal Sampling in Polhena.

🎯 Our participants didn’t just snorkel – they stepped into the role of a marine scientist.
Led by Prof. P.B. Terney Pradeep Kumara, Dr. Gayani Thilakarathna, and their incredible team, everyone gained practical skills in:

βœ… Laying transects
βœ… Identifying key species
βœ… Low-impact sampling
βœ… Citizen science techniques

All of this, right in the beautiful shallow coastal waters of Polhena.

πŸ“Έ Swipe through for underwater and on-shore highlights, from focused fieldwork to fins-up moments!

πŸ‘ Huge thanks to all the participants, trainers, and organizers who made this day unforgettable. You are now ready to explore our oceans with purpose, precision, and passion.
