A workshop on abstract writing for two-year Master of Arts, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degree candidates of the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies was held on 11th March 2026 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Institutional Auditorium. About 100 local and foreign students participated in the workshop. The workshop was conducted by Professor Miriswatte Wimalagnana Thero.

The intake of new students for the 2026/2027 academic year of the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya was held on 7th March 2026 at the Institutional Auditorium under the patronage of the Director, Senior Professor Wasantha Priyadarshana. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Rajitha Pushpakumara, Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya. Nearly three hundred ordained lay students registered to pursue postgraduate degrees through the Sinhala medium for courses such as Postgraduate Diploma in Pali Studies, Master of Pali Studies, Postgraduate Diploma in Buddhist Studies, Master of Buddhist Studies, Diploma in Buddhist Counselling, Master of Buddhist Counselling, etc. The enrolment of students for degree studies through the English medium was held on March 3, 2026, and about 200 foreign students including Burma, China, and Vietnam participated in it.
