✨ Visite de la Laverie Beni Amir - OCP Khouribga dans le cadre du projet de bio-flottation ✨

Les doctorants du CBS ont eu l’opportunité d’explorer de près les processus de la Laverie de Beni Amir à Khouribga dans le cadre de leurs recherches en bio-flottation. Accompagnés par Pr. Abderrahmane Etahiri, Pr. Mohammed Danouche et Dr. Sihame Akhtache, ils ont bénéficié d’une immersion enrichissante au cœur de cette infrastructure industrielle.
🙏 Un immense merci à l’équipe de l’OCP, en particulier à M. Zouhair Hafid, M. Omar Oabi et M. Ali Bouali, pour leur accueil chaleureux et le partage généreux de leur expertise !

On Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 September , the Mohammed VI Polytechnic university (UM6P) welcomed a delegation from the CNRS to its Benguerir campus.

The delegation was made up of Ms Sandrine Sagan ( Deputy Scientific Director at CNRS Institute of Chemistry), Mr Jacques Maddaluno ( Director of the CNRS chemistry institute) and Mr Hassan Oulyadi, a professor from the University of Rouen.

During the visit, the delegation discovered the UM6P ecosystem and discussed areas of common interest with CBS department.

On the second day, the delegation continued its discussions with the CBS researchers , notably on the UM6P/CNRS collaboration project presented by Dr Rachid BENHIDA.

On the third and final day of EAMix 2024, we celebrated excellence and innovation in the African energy sector by honoring six outstanding oral presentations and three exceptional poster presentations that stood out for their quality and impact.

Our warmest congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding work and significant contributions.

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our 4-day intensive training on the state-of-the-art Raman/AFM Witec Alpha 300 RA+ equipment. This instrument uniquely combines TrueSurface Raman imaging with AFM imaging, opening new avenues for advanced analysis.
The training, held in the CBS labs, delved deep into both the theoretical and practical aspects of the instrument, enhancing our understanding and capabilities.
A huge thank you to Dr. Matthias Finger from WITEC for his exceptional dedication and expertise in delivering this invaluable training. Special recognition to Ayoub MARZAQ and Benmansour Mohammed Rida, who have now mastered the use of the Raman/AFM Witec Alpha 300 RA+ and are fully equipped to conduct analyses and operate the instrument.

In March 2024, the CBS/UM6P Jorf Lasfar Entity, in collaboration with the OCP Jorf Lasfar Security Service, organized two HSE training sessions. These sessions focused on best practices for using fire extinguishers and panoramic masks and were intended for all CBS/UM6P employees.
These events facilitated the dissemination of operational procedures for using fire extinguishers and panoramic masks through practical exercises and real gas generation simulations.

Excited to announce the upcoming International Conference on Energy in Africa, hosted by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir, May 14-16, 2024.

🔍 Explore Dynamic Topics: At EAMix 2024, we'll delve into critical facets of energy in Africa, including:

✔️Fossil fuels (production, distribution, present and future)
✔️Sustainable and renewable energies (biomass, wind, solar PV and thermodynamics, hydroelectricity, geothermal and hydrogen)
✔️Short-term (fuel cells and batteries) and long-term (Power to X) storage
✔️Energy and vital needs (water, desalination, etc.)

We would like to specify that the COPED of the French Academy of Sciences and the IRD (Institut de recherche pour le développement) support the participation of African students and young researchers by covering their accommodation and travel costs from their laboratories to the conference (via participation grants). Participation in the conference is free of charge. These African researchers will be selected by a scientific committee on the basis of their CVs, submitted abstracts and financial situation.
