INCEIF, which stands for ‘International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance’, was established by Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia) in 2005 to meet the growing global demand for qualified professionals in Islamic finance, and to strengthen Malaysia’s status as an international centre for Islamic finance. Our aim is to be the knowledge leader in Islamic finance, providing excellent teaching, research and thought leadership.

Is AI really a go in the university? 🕵🏻‍♂️

With AI quickly becoming a staple in education, the big question isn't just how to use it, but how to use it right.

We recently hosted a lively Teh Tarik Session at The Lounge with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maya Puspa Rahman to dive into Integrity in the Usage of AI for the Learning Process.

The discussion hit right at the heart of what students need to know today, especially when it comes to AI in assessments. The biggest takeaway? While AI opens up incredible new opportunities for learning, academic integrity must always come first.

INCEIF University Takes the Global Stage Once Again! 🌍✈️

Our journey takes us to Baku, Azerbaijan, for the 20th IsDB Global Forum, where INCEIF University will represent the global Islamic finance community on this prestigious international platform.

We are pleased to announce that our President and CEO, Prof. Emeritus Dato' Dr. Mohd Azmi Omar, alongside the Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia (who also serves as a Member of INCEIF University Board of Directors), Mr Adnan Zaylani will be speaking at the forum. They will be sharing the stage with global leaders from the United Nations, and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group to address critical global issues-ranging from using Islamic social finance to secure food and energy, to exploring new AI-driven solutions in the industry.

Is the ṣukūk market ready to move beyond form towards true Sharīʿah substance?

This study highlights how AAOIFI Sharīʿah Standard No. 62 signals a decisive shift towards genuine ownership and risk-sharing in ṣukūk structures. It shows that authenticity lies not in contractual design alone, but in the real transfer of risk, return, and economic substance.

Yet, the transition is not without challenges. Legal constraints, market expectations, and institutional readiness continue to shape how far and how fast these principles can be implemented.

As the ṣukūk market evolves, the findings invite deeper reflection on how Sharīʿah principles, regulatory frameworks, and financial innovation can be aligned to support more authentic and sustainable market development.

We are delighted to announce that INCEIF University and the Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA CEIF), Pakistan, have officially signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)!

Representing INCEIF University at the ceremony were our Deputy President Academic, Prof. Dr. Mansor Ibrahim, and Associate Dean for Students and Internationalisation, Prof. Dr. Aishath Muneeza, alongside a distinguished delegation from IBA Pakistan led by Dean Prof. Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh.

Building on a warm and successful partnership that began in 2019, this updated agreement brings together two world-class, AACSB-accredited institutions to focus on what matters most—our academic community.

Moving forward, we will work closely together to boost global student mobility through hands-on experiential learning, facilitate faculty and knowledge exchanges, and drive joint research projects that tackle modern economic and sustainability challenges.
