Meet Dr Betty Mwaka Malambo, lecturer at the Namibia Business School

Dr Betty Malambo holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stafford University, Uganda, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) majoring in Banking and Finance from the University of Namibia (UNAM).

With over 14 years of teaching experience in secondary schools, Dr Malambo has made notable contributions to education and community development. During this period, she pioneered and voluntarily managed the New Look Daycare and Kindergarten Centre in Katima Mulilo, where she mentored educators, facilitated on-the-job training, and supported institutional capacity building.

Her commitment to community empowerment led to her appointment as a Senior Community Activator, where she supported the establishment of Early Childhood Development Centres and Income Generating Activities.

Dr Malambo later served at the Electoral Commission of Namibia and the Ministry of Works and Transport in various management and administrative roles. She has also contributed to feasibility studies and research development initiatives.

Since joining academia in 2023, Dr Malambo lectures in the Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Business Leadership, Diploma in Project Management, and the Master of Business Administration programme, alongside conducting postgraduate research supervision.

Meet Dr Helena Hakweenda, lecturer at the Namibia Business School.

Dr Hakweenda earned her doctorate in 2020 with thesis title: The Impact of Executive Compensation on Organisational Performance in Namibia’s Commercial Public Enterprises, strengthening her expertise in Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship.

With over 10 years of combined academic and industry experience, she specialises in business education, curriculum design, and postgraduate supervision. She has supervised over 100 undergraduate research projects, MBA dissertations, and co-supervised PhD theses.

As a certified Human Resource Organisational Development Practitioner and Compensation and Benefits Professional, Dr Hakweenda’s expertise spans talent management, executive compensation, performance management, and public-sector HR policy reform.

Dr Hakweenda currently coordinates the Health Management, Entrepreneurship, and Information Management and Digital Intelligence specialisations within the MBA programme, helping prepare future leaders for evolving industry demands.
