Dissociating a company from a former employee through a disclaimer does not inherently suggest any impropriety. Rather, it is often a prudent measure taken to preclude potential risks associated with future transactions. In situations where a former employee, who was closely tied to the company, goes on to engage in illegal activities, the company may face undue trouble if it had not issued a disclaimer upon the employee's departure.

While I don't have issues with the billionaire daughter leaving her former place of service to start her own company, I still see no wrong in putting up disclaimers by her former employer.

The Nigerian government, through the Nigeria Customs Service, has announced the commencement of procedures for granting safe passage to personal vehicles temporarily imported or transiting Nigeria by international travelers.
NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

The service said the policy framework covers all personal, non-commercial vehicles belonging to international travelers visiting Nigeria for tourism, diplomatic, business, or personal purposes.

“It seeks to ease cross-border movement, strengthen Nigeria’s compliance with international obligations, and reinforce the nation’s commitment to trade facilitation and regional integration.

“It is pertinent to note that this implementation draws legal backing from Sections 142, 143, 144, and 245 of the NCS Act, 2023, as well as the Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC), UN TIR Convention (1975), Istanbul Convention (1990), and the ECOWAS Protocol on Free Movement of Persons, Residence, and Establishment. It also aligns with WCO Guidelines on Temporary Admission and the Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD) regulations.

“International travelers are required to present valid documents such as an international passport, an international driver’s license, vehicle registration, insurance, and CPD at the point of entry. Upon satisfactory inspection and verification, a Temporary Vehicle Admission Permit valid for up to 90 days will be issued and electronically recorded. Travelers may apply for an extension of up to 30 days, subject to approval by the relevant Customs Area Controller.

“Vehicles admitted under this regime are free to move within Nigeria but cannot be sold, leased, transferred, modified, or used for commercial purposes. At the point of exit, travelers should present the vehicle and the approved customs Temporary Admission Declaration. In the event of an accident, theft, or breakdown, the nearest Customs office should be notified immediately for documentation and guidance.

“The NCS, therefore, reaffirms its commitment to transparency and accountability while facilitating legitimate travel. This initiative strengthens Nigeria’s role in cross-border cooperation and ensures compliance with existing regulations to enhance security and efficiency,” the statement reads.

The whole country is counting on us and if we fail ,they’ll drag us everywhere especially me . I love Lookman , he is my brother and he understands that was just football . The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has paid a strategic visit to the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom, King Ateke Tom, conveying a clear message regarding the political crisis in Rivers State: The decision has been made, and there is no room for intervention.

Speaking during the visit to Ogu/Bolo, Wike described the monarch as a close friend but firmly warned that their friendship would not extend to political interference in the ongoing battle with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The former Governor revealed that he came to "brief" Ateke Tom on the situation out of respect, but emphasized that the briefing was for information purposes only, not for mediation.

"I came to tell you because you are my friend, but we have taken our decision," Wike reportedly told the monarch. "This information is just for your ears, not for participation. Do not interfere. We are not looking for settlement; we are looking for correction."

Wike advised King Ateke Tom to protect his throne by staying neutral and focusing on maintaining peace in his kingdom, commending him for the lack of crisis in Ogu/Bolo.

"I don't want to involve traditional rulers in politics. You have done well keeping your kingdom peaceful. Please remain a traditional ruler and leave the politics to us," Wike stated.

In his response, King Ateke Tom welcomed the Minister warmly, reminding Wike that he holds a traditional title in the land and that the plot of land gifted to him for building a house is still available. The monarch avoided direct political comments, choosing instead to focus on the personal bond between them.

Political observers interpret Wike’s visit as a move to "neutralize" potential peacemakers, ensuring that when the next phase of the political battle begins, powerful figures like Ateke Tom will stand aside.
