*ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL*
*TUESDAY, 27TH MAY, 2025.*

*TOPIC: UNITY IN THE MIDST OF DIVERSITY*

*MEMORIZE: “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:4 (ESV).*

*SCRIPTURE READING: “1 Corinthians 12:1-4 (NKJV).*
*"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2. You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. 4. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”*

*EXPOSITION:*
Today by His grace as we are studying the series of spiritual gifts, this is ideal for teaching the foundational truth about spiritual gifts in the body of Christ.

*A BODY, NOT A BUILDING*
Paul writes to a church overflowing with spiritual activity, but suffering from spiritual disunity. In 1 Corinthians 12, he begins to lay a foundation for understanding how the Spirit works in the body of Christ. Verse 4 is short, but packed with theological insight and pastoral wisdom.

*1. THE DIVERSITY OF GRACE* - *“ There are varieties of Gifts…”*
God gives different gifts to different people, intentionally.“Varieties” (Greek: diaireseis) means distributions or distinctions. The Holy Spirit does not clone Christians; He custom-crafts them. No believer has all the gifts, and no gift is given to all believers.

Examples from verses 8–10: Wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation.

Romans 12:6: *“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them…”*

Don't envy someone else's gift or despise your own. Your uniqueness is by divine design.

*2. THE UNITY OF THE SOURCE* - *“…but the same Spirit.”*

Though the gifts differ, the Spirit is the same in all of them. The Corinthians were tempted to rank spiritual gifts. Paul reminds them: all spiritual gifts come from the same Holy Spirit. This truth anchors diversity in unity and prevents division.

1 Corinthians 12:11: *“All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as He wills.”* The presence of different gifts is not a sign of spiritual superiority, but of spiritual unity. We are many parts, one Spirit.

*3. DIVERSITY IS A STRENGTH, NOT A THREAT*
This verse sets up Paul's larger teaching in the chapter:
* We are one body with many members (v.12–14).
* God has arranged the body as He saw fit (v.18).

The Spirit unites us through variety, not despite it. Imagine an orchestra where every instrument played the same note. There’d be no harmony, no beauty—just noise. Diversity, when led by one Conductor (the Spirit), creates something powerful and beautiful.

*USE WHAT THE SPIRIT HAS GIVEN YOU*
1 Corinthians 12:4 reminds us that:
* Gifts differ, but grace is the same.
* Callings vary, but Christ is one.
* Functions differ, but all serve the same mission.

Therefore, Discover your gift. Develop it and Deploy it—not for your glory, but for the good of the body and the glory of God.

Topic: *PRAISE GOD ,O YOU EARTH- Part 1*

*MEMORIZE: "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" Psalm 150:6 (NKJV)*

*SCRIPTURE READING:* MATTHEW 148:7-13 (NKJV).
*7. "Praise the Lord from the earth, You great sea creatures and all the depths; 8. Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling His word; 9. Mountains and all hills; Fruitful trees and all cedars; 10. Beasts and all cattle; Creeping things and flying fowl; 11. Kings of the earth and all peoples; Princes and all judges of the earth; 12. Both young men and maidens; Old men and children. 13. Let them praise the name of the Lord, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven."*

*EXPOSITION:*
The call to praise God is not limited to the heavens. Psalm 148 reminds us that all of creation—both in heaven and on earth—is invited to glorify the Lord. Today, we will focus on the earth’s response to God’s greatness and how we, as part of creation, are called to join in this chorus of praise.

*THE EARTH'S PRAISE DECLARED IN SCRIPTURE*
*Nature Glorifies God:*
Psalm 148:7-9: *“Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars.”* Every aspect of nature—oceans, weather, and plants—testifies to God’s power and creativity.

*Creation’s Obedience* Reflects God’s Glory:
Job 37:14-16: *“Stop and consider God’s wonders. Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash?”* The natural world follows the laws God has established, revealing His wisdom and order.

When we observe the beauty and complexity of creation, we are reminded of God’s majesty. Let the earth’s testimony inspire us to worship the Creator.

*HUMANITY’S ROLE IN LEADING EARTH'S PRAISE*
*We Are Stewards of Creation*
Genesis 1:28: *“Fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature.”* As caretakers of the earth, we honor God by protecting and nurturing His creation.

*Our Voices Join Creation’s Song:*
Isaiah 55:12: *“The mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”* While nature praises God passively, we actively lift our voices in thanksgiving and adoration.

Let us live responsibly, treating the earth as a sacred gift. In doing so, we align ourselves with the praise of all creation.

*PRAYER POINT:* Lord of heaven and earth, we praise You for the beauty and majesty of Your creation. Teach us to honor You by caring for the world You have entrusted to us. May our lives join with the earth in glorifying Your name, now and forever. Amen..…………………………………………………

Topic: *PROTECTION FROM THE TEETH OF THE WICKED* Part 2

MEMORIZE: *"Do not deliver the soul of Your turtledove to the wild beast; do not forget the life of Your poor forever." Psalm 74:19.*

*SCRIPTURE READING:* Psalms 74:18-23 (NKJV)
*18 "Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O Lord, And that a foolish people has blasphemed Your name. 19. Oh, do not deliver the life of Your turtledove to the wild beast! Do not forget the life of Your poor forever. 20. Have respect to the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty. 21. Oh, do not let the oppressed return ashamed! Let the poor and needy praise Your name. 22. Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; Remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily. 23. Do not forget the voice of Your enemies; The tumult of those who rise up against You increases continually."*

*EXPOSITION:*
We thank God for His word that never fails and for His love for us that never ceases. May His name be praised for ever in Jesus name. In continuation of our study on" GOD'S PROTECTION FROM THE TEETH OF THE WICKED ", we shall look at these concluding points...

*3. GOD AS OUR PROTECTOR*
Throughout the Bible, God is shown as a refuge, a shield, and a deliverer. In Psalm 91, we are reminded that "He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you will find refuge." When we call upon the Lord, we are not just asking for help but declaring that our hope and protection come from Him alone.

*Protection through Prayer:* As we pray, we release our fears and place our trust in God's power.

*The Power of God's Word:* Scripture is described as a "sword of the Spirit" (Ephesians 6:17). When we meditate on God’s Word, it strengthens us and pushes back against the attacks of the enemy.

*4. GOD WILL NOT FORGET HIS PEOPLE*
The psalmist cries, "Do not forget the life of Your poor forever." Even when it feels as if God is silent, we have His promise that He will never leave nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). This assurance gives us hope to stand firm in faith, knowing that He is watching over us.

*God’s Faithfulness:* He is faithful even when we are faithless (2 Timothy 2:13). We can trust that God will act on behalf of those who call on His name.

*Standing in Faith:* Though we may not see immediate deliverance, faith calls us to stand firm, believing that God’s timing is perfect.

PRAYER POINT: Let us pray with the psalmist, “Lord, protect me from the teeth of the wicked.” May we remember that God is our protector, our refuge, and our strength. In our vulnerability, we find the opportunity to lean on Him, to trust His protection, and to believe that He will never forget us..…………………………………………………

“Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: ” Psalm 103:1-2.

When I think of your love engineered by your mercy and grace bestowed on me, which makes me preferred above my equal, I say "THANK YOU, LORD".

It has been You, O LORD, in my life. Who I am today is by Your Grace, Mercy and Love. Please, continue Your reign in My Life and I will continue to follow You.
