Paleontologists have unearthed a massive 70-million-year-old megaraptor from ancient Argentina, one of the most complete megaraptors yet found.

Dubbed Joaquinraptor casali, the team believes it stretched more than 23 feet (7 meters) long and weighed over a ton. Most interestingly is that the predator died with what may have been its last meal still locked in its jaws, offering insight into its lifestyle, diet, and habits, as well as those of other megaraptors.

Orcas are at it again. Earlier this month, three orcas were spotted off the coast of Lisbon, Portugal, swimming alongside a boat and ramming it so forcefully that it sank. It was towed back to shore and the crew on board was unharmed. This isn't the first time the behavior has been documented in the region, but scientists have new theories about why they do it.

Pamukkale

Pamukkale is a town in western Turkey known for the mineral-rich thermal waters flowing down white travertine terraces on a nearby hillside. It neighbors Hierapolis, an ancient Roman spa city founded around 190 B.C. Ruins there include a well-preserved theater and a necropolis with sarcophagi that stretch for 2km. The Antique Pool is famous for its submerged Roman columns, the result of an earthquake.

Santorini

Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red, and white lava pebbles.

Old Bagan

Bagan (bəɡàɴ; also called Pagan) is an ancient city in the Mandalay region of Myanmar. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Pagan from the 9th to 13th centuries. During the kingdom's golden age between the 11th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were built in Bagan.

Now, the archaeological remains of over 2,200 of these temples and pagodas are in the surrounding plains. It is one of the biggest places for tourism in the country.
