MATRICULATION SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE PROVOST, JIGAWA STATE COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES, BIRNIN KUDU, MAL. GARBA ADAMU, AT THE ND/HND 1 (SET 30) MATRICULATION CEREMONY ON 21ST MAY 2026
The Honorable Commissioner, Chairman and Members of the Governing Council, distinguished guests, members of staff, parents and guardians, members of the press, dear students, ladies and gentlemen, good morning.
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to this important occasion of the 2026 Matriculation Ceremony of our great institution. Today marks a significant milestone in the lives of our newly admitted students who are formally being inducted into the academic community.
On behalf of the Management, Academic Board, and Governing Council, I warmly congratulate all matriculating students for successfully gaining admission into this noble institution.
Today is not merely a ceremony; it is the beginning of a journey that will shape your future and prepare you to contribute meaningfully to society and the healthcare sector. As students of this institution, you are expected to uphold discipline, integrity, professionalism, and academic excellence at all times.
I wish to remind you that the nursing and healthcare profession demands compassion, dedication, patience, and respect for human life. Therefore, you must take your studies seriously and conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the profession you have chosen. To our esteemed parents and guardians, we appreciate your sacrifices and confidence in this institution. We assure you that we remain committed to providing quality education, conducive learning environments, and sound moral training for your children.
I also wish to sincerely appreciate the Honorable Commissioner, the Chairman and Members of the Governing Council, and all stakeholders for their continuous support and commitment toward the growth and development of this institution. Your encouragement and contributions have continued to move the college forward.
To the matriculating students, I encourage you to remain focused, avoid negative influences, shun all forms of examination malpractice, cultism, drug abuse, and any act capable of tarnishing your future and the image of the institution. Make good use of the opportunities provided to you and strive to become worthy ambassadors of this college.
Once again, I congratulate all the matriculating students and wish you a successful and rewarding stay in this institution.
