Office Of The SA To The Governor On Students Orientation CRS.

15th July, 2024.

Earlier today, I and my Team of Directorate of Programs and Projects moved our courtesy visit to the Ministry Of Education Calabar, where we were warmly received by the Distinguished Commissioner For Education, Sen Stephen Odey PhD.

In our quest of orienting the Cross River State Students, the need to have an important dialogue with the commissioner became inevitable hence the visit, noting that the office of the SA To The Governor On Students' Orientation is an integral part of the Education ministry.

It was indeed a memorable session with the Commissioner as the assurances of strategic synergy was created.

Thank You Distinguished Commissioner For the receptive welcome as we look forward to having a great moments in the educational sector of Cross River State.

In all the visits, the SA reiterated that his sole purpose is to familiarize and open the government to students by way of orienting them on the progress of the Senator Bassey Edet Otu administration.

Today I had the privilege of gracing the College of Nursing, Cross River State SUG event organized by the SUG President Comr. Obo Etem.

Present in the occasion with me, were the SA To The Governor On Students' Affair, Comr. Enyam Joseph, the JCC NANS Chairman Comr. Iwara Michael Emmanuel, Former University of Calabar SUG Presidents, Comr. Ugah James Ugah and Comr. Tyron Bassey among others dignitaries.

To maximize this opportunity, I was able to orient the students on basic morals that a student must possess aside the academic uprightness that makes that student unique among his or her peers.

As a student, you must take your studies very serious, stay away from peers that influences negativity, be self disciplined, prioritize the purpose of making your parents or Guardians proud and making sure your purpose while in school is achieved.
The fight against social vices such as cultism, drugs addiction, sexual immorality and several other vices must be shunned and never be indulged-in by any students.
In few years from now, the Executive Governor Of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen Prince Bassey Otu should be proud of you all where names of high profile personalities are called it should be you answering those names. I buttressed.

It was an epoch making event to share our ideas and commitment with the students community who are the recipient of these basic orientations created by the thoughtfulness of his Excellency the Governor of Cross River State.

It was indeed a memorable session with the College of Nursing Students.

Earlier today, My Directorate Team Members and myself paid a courtesy call to the Provost of University of Calabar, College of Nursing.

Date 11th July, 2024.

In my mission/vision of orienting the students community in Cross River State, I earlier today paid a courtesy visit to the Provost of Nursing College University of Calabar Mrs. Item C. Akpan.

The visit was aimed at familiarizing with students of nursing college and propagate a synergy between my office as the SA To The Governor On Students' Orientation with that of the Provost and the Students Union Government of the college where the vision of orienting and reorienting the students will be given a soft landing.

Highlighting some Major issues where orientation of the Students are needed, the Chairman of the directorate, Comr. Ugah James stated the numerous social vices perpetrated and indulged in by students nowadays hence the thoughtfulness of his Excellency, the Executive Governor Of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu to creat this important sector in his government.

Ugah further furnished the Provost with the ambition of the SA on embarking in a Senatorial Summit tagged " Education and Character" where a platform for talking about some key social vices as regards the Students will be addressed.

In response, the Provost was happy for such insightful and consciousness of conceiving such important program and promised to maximize this opportunity by making it a compulsory obligation for all her students to attend once the date is announced, stressing on the numerous life-threatening social vices in which the office of the SA seek to address, she lauded the the ambition and expressed her readiness to synergize with the office to achieve a maximal success.

"Count on me, SA on every aspect you need my contributions in ensuring this orientation of yours is actualized, because I can't imagine how youths nowadays are becoming habitats of evil deeds in the nation. Series of ungodly behaviors occurs everyday and statistical records has proven 98% of those involved are the youths, I think with this initiative of yours and your team it will go a long way to reduce and possibly avert the subsequent occurrence of any such acts of ungodliness.
I look forward to receiving your notice in this regard and will be pleased to attend myself" the Provost added.

It was indeed a fruitful session with the Provost of college of nursing university of Calabar as I and my Team are committed in making sure the needed orientation for the students are given across the state.

On June 28th, 2024, a courtesy visit was paid to the acting Vice Chancellor of Cross River State University.

The team, led by the SA to the Governor on student orientation, Comr. Anthony Afufu, was warmly received by the VC. The session began with an opening prayer by Felicia and introductions by Comr. Kizito.

The SA appreciated the Vice Chancellor's efforts and personality, expressing gratitude for his time. The purpose of the visit was to explore ways to orient students towards globalization and collaboration.

The SA sought the Vice Chancellor's fatherly advice on achieving this ambition. The office is working to bring in experts for a global enlightenment and orientation of students.

The Vice Chancellor pledged his support and commitment to the SA's vision. The visit was a success, with a positive outcome and a strong partnership forged. The team left with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude.

Today being the 14th day of June, 2024 , in a significant and historic turn of events, the students of the University of Calabar have spoken through the fiercely contested election of the Students' Union Government .
