Blood donation is a cross-cutting solution to Nigeria's myriad health challenges — from helping road accident victims to anemic persons. This is further highlighted by the unsavory statistics that places the country in the lower rung of the blood donation ladder worldwide since the yearly 1.8 million units of blood needed for over 200 million people are donated by less than 20 million people per year.
A challenging and depressing one it is, and that is why the *Millennium Fellows, University of Nigeria Cohort*, are working to raise awareness on this and change the narrative.
We're organizing a Webinar to this regard, themed *_Blood Donation in Nigeria: Its Necessity in Fulfilling SDG 3_ .*
Speakers:
*Prof. Obike Ibegbunam, Professor of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, University of Nigeria*
&
*Noha Al-khalqi, MPA*
*Programs Director, Millennium Fellowship*
Date: *Wednesday 11th November, 2020*
Venue: *Zoom* (Video conferencing app)
Time: *14:00 (2pm, Nigerian Time) / 8:00 (Eastern Time).*
