The book was in its first edition published as INCOHERENCE OF SHIA CREED: THE PATH OF SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET. As already mentioned two Muhktasar of the book were made. The first one was done by the student of Sheikhul Islam Ibn Taimiyyah, Imam Abu Abdullah, Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Uthman bin Qaimaz ad-Dhahbi (born 673AH – 748AH). The second Mukhtasar was made recently by Sheikh Abdullah al-Ghunaiman of Madina University.

While the Mukhtasar of Imam ad-Dhabi concentrated on refutation of Shi’a, Qadriyyah, Theologians, Mu’atazilites doctrines etc. that of Sheikh Abdullah al-Ghunaiman concentrated only refutation of Shi’a Rafidha. The idea of translating the part that refuted other sects was suggested to me by a dear brother, and I took it up and hence this second edition of the book.

Thus, this edition contained an insightful refutation of Shi’a creeds, Philosophers, Mu’atazilites, Theologians, Qadriyyah and deniers of Allah’s attributes whether in totality or partially.

IBN TAIMIYYAH ON THE TREACHERIES OF SHIA RAFIDHA:
"They (Shia Rafidha) are holding enmity to the friends of Allah, after their Prophet (ﷺ); the Muhajirun (Prophets Companions who immigrated from Makka to Madina), Ansar (Prophet Companions living in Madina who aided the Messenger of Allah and those who immigrated to them from Makka), and those who follows them in goodness and are pleased with Him. At the same time you find them befriending disbelievers, polytheists, hypocrites, Jews and Christians and groups of atheists such as Nusairiyyah, Ismailiyyah and other misguided sects. You will find them or most of them if two people debate concerning their Lord among Muslims and disbelievers and people differ concerning what the Prophets have brought; some of them believe and some of them disbelieve; it does not matter whether the difference is by words or action, like wars that occurs between Muslims, people of the Book and polytheists. You will find them aiding polytheists and people of the Book over the Muslims, the people of Qur’an. People have experienced manifold their aiding of polytheists among the Turks (Mongols and Tartars) and others against the people of Islam in Khorasan (a region in Iran), Syria, Iraq, Arabian Peninsula and other places. They have aided the Christian (Crusaders etc.) over the Muslims in Syria, Egypt and other countries in many occasions. Among the great calamities that befall Muslims in the fourth and the seventh centuries of Islam is when the disbelievers Turks (Mongols and Tartars) attacked Islamic countries and killed a lot of Muslims (whose number of casualties is only known by Allah), they are the greatest people that showed enmity to the Muslims and aided the disbelievers. Their giving aid to the Jews is something that is well known and that is why people are calling them the donkeys of the Jews, they ride them for every trouble (or they are Jews hunting dogs)."

IBN TAIMIYYAH COMPARES RAFIDHA WITH JEWS AND CHRISTIANS:
"The Jews and Christians are better than the Shi’a, for when the Jews are asked, who have ever been the best of all the Jews, they replied: “The companions of Moses” and when the Christians are asked who are the best of all Christians that have existed, they said: “The companions of Jesus.” And when the Shi’a were asked who are the worst amongst the Muslims that ever existed, they replied: “The Companions of Prophet Muhammad.” They are commanded to seek forgiveness for them but they are abusing them. Thus, the sword is drawn against them to the Last Day, their call will be defeated, their flag will be vanquished and their affairs will be in disarray; whenever they kindled the fire of war Allah extinguishes it, they are striving to cause mischief in the earth and Allah do not like mischief makers."

SHEIKHUL ISLAM EXPLAING THE MEANING OF TASBIH AND THAT AL-ASH'ARI AFFIRMED THE BELIEFS OF AHLUS SUNNAH:
All men of wisdom among the Muslim agreed upon the fact that their isn’t among the Muslim Sects a sect more ignorant, more astray, more lying, more engrossed in innovations and closer to all evil, and far away from all good than his (the Rafidhi’s) sect. This is why when al-Ash’ari wrote his book, al-Maqalaat al-Islamiyeen, he first mentioned their creeds and end his book with the creeds of Ahlus Sunnah and Hadith. He thereafter mentioned that he believe in all the beliefs of Ahlus Sunnah mentioned therein.
His (the Rafidhi) calling Ahlus Sunnah, Hadith and affirmation (of Allah’s attributes) as anthropomorphist (Mushabbiha), is similar to their calling whoever affirm the Caliphate of the first three Caliphs a Nasibi (enemy of Ahlul Bayt – family of the Prophet) base on their belief on the obligation of loving Ali and absolving themselves from the first three Caliphs, but a true Nasibi is the person who hates the family of the Messenger of Allah and fought them. And anthropomorphism (Tashbih) is likening the attributes of the Lord to those of His servants.

SHEIKHUL ISLAM IBN TAIMIYYAH REPLYING TO THOSE WHO ARE ACCUSSING AHLUS SUNNAH OF BEING MUSHABBIHA:
Thus, this Rafidhi and those similar to him: If they mean by anthropomorphist (Mushabbiha) those who affirmed nouns (characteristics) that are shared by Allah and His creatures, then his sect and all people are anthropomorphist. But if he means by it those who made the attributes of Allah to be the equal to those of His creatures; then these people are followers of falsehood, they have gone astray, and you find most of them among the Shia Rafidha, more than in any other sect.
The Madhab (path and way) of Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jama’ah is old, deep-rooted and well known before Allah created Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi’i and Imam Ahmad; it is surely, the path of the Prophets companions (r.a), who learned it from their Apostle (s.a.w); whoever contradicts that is an innovator according to the creed of Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jama’ah; they have agreed that the consensus of the Prophet’s companions is a proof (Hujjah) - in all religious matters..

ISTIQAMAAH: ADHERING TO THE RIGHT PATH:
This is one of the greatest works of Sheikhul Islam Ahmad bin Abdul Halim bin Taimiyyah in it he discourses the following topics:
He discussed the Sunnah (Prophetic tradition) and innovation (Bid'ah), the difference between them, and the boundaries between good and bad innovations. This topic remains controversial among scholars, with some being lenient and others being strict.
He discussed singing, (music, poetry and prose) its permissibility and prohibition, the arguments for and against it, and the evidence presented by each side, and made a definite text based conclusion.
He discussed Sufism and their ecstatic (extravagant) utterances and their terminologies such as Dhawq, Fana’, Wijd, Whdatul Wujud etc. what is in their favor and what is against it. One will understand that he is critical of certain Sufi practices and doctrines, but he also acknowledged the validity of authentic Sufism based on the Qur’an and Sunnah.
He discussed the questions on rebellion against authority; its permissibility or otherwise. And other very vital issues that seems to be controversial in Islam. This is very important as even today Muslims are discussing the issues concerning Khawarij.
