UNIZIK Commences Registration for Direct Entry

October 30, 2017 Nnamdi Azikiwe University

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University hereby informs all candidates who applied for Direct Entry into the University, and all candidates who applied for admission into its affiliate institutions (both through UTME and Direct Entry) that registration for the screening exercise will commence on Tuesday 31st of October 2017.

1. ELIGIBILITY:
a. Candidates who applied for the Direct entry admission into Nnamdi Azikiwe University

OR

Candidates who applied to any of the affiliate institutions (for both Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry admission) including :

i. Federal College of Education (Technical) Umunze, Anambra State

ii. Enugu State College of Education (Technical) Enugu State

iii. Pope John Paul Seminary Okpuno, Anambra State

iv. Auchi Polytechnic Auchi, Delta State

are eligible to apply.

b. The general cut-off mark is 180 for all UTME candidates.



2. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:



a. Registration starts on Tuesday, 31st October, 2017 and will end on Wednesday 8th of November, 2017.



b. – Visit portal.unizik.edu.ng



– Click on ‘ Create Account’



– Enter your UTME REG Number and a valid email address and click ‘Send’. A verification code will be sent to your email instantly.



– Copy the verification code and click on ‘Continue’



– On the form, enter your phone number, password, verification code (copied from email), select the access level and click on ‘ Submit’



– Your login details will be sent to your email address instantly.



– Continue with the application by logging in with the login credentials sent to your email



– After successful login, click on ‘Step One’, click on ‘Generate Application Form RRR’



– Print the RRR (Remita) page, proceed to any bank of your choice nationwide to make a payment of N2,000 only



– Login to the portal, click on ‘Step Two’, click on ‘Confirm payment’, enter the RRR number and click on ‘Verify payment’. If payment confirmation is successful, or if you get a notification ‘Payment already verified’, then proceed to “Step Three”.



– Click on ‘Step Three’, click on ‘Fill Application Form’, Fill out the application form. You can save each stage of the application and continue at a later time. Also, you can edit your information as often as possible within the application period.



– Check the ‘I Agree’ box and click on “submit” button.





3. TIME AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE



a. Date and Time for the screening exercise will be posted to each candidate’s profile page from Monday 6th of November 2017.



b. Candidates are advised to Print out their completed Application Forms from that day from the University Portal and come along with it for the screening examination.



c. The date and time for each candidate’s examination will be shown on the PRINT-OUT





4. RESTRICTIONS



a. Only bona fide candidates/candidates scheduled for the day’s examination and time shall be allowed into the University / Examination Hall.



b. Parents and guardians are, therefore, strongly advised against attempting to enter the University Campus as security will be tight.



c. No GSM handsets, scientific calculators or any other extraneous materials shall be allowed into the examination hall




d. Candidates who did not register online will not be allowed for the screening exercise.



e. The University will not be liable for any payment made with wrong JAMB registration number at the Bank.



f. The University shall also not be liable for any fraudulent payments made anywhere that is not in line with the directives of the University.

– Click on ‘ Create Account’

– Enter your UTME REG Number and a valid email address and click ‘Send’. A verification code will be sent to your email instantly.

– Copy the verification code and click on ‘Continue’

a. Accreditation of candidates commences at 8.00am each day. Candidates should adhere strictly to the time scheduled for screening examination.

b. Print out the Application Form from the University Portal and come along with it for your screening and POST UTME evaluation

c. The date and time for each candidate’s examination will be shown on the POST UTME PRINT-OUT

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka wishes to inform all students of the
University that resumption for the 2016/2017 academic session has been
scheduled as follows:

 Monday, November 7, 2016
Final year and first batch of fresh students return and continue payment of
fees and registration process

 Monday, November 21, 2016
All other students return

 Monday, November 28, 2016
Lectures will commence for all students
Students should note that 75% attendance to lectures is a pre-condition for participating in examinations.

Good news for the prospective freshmen of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka as the much anticipated admission list for the 2016/2017 academic year will be out before Sunday, the 6th day of November, 2016.

This was disclosed by the director of information and public relations of the University, Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu few minutes ago while responding to a question by one Stanley Kings on his facebook timeline.

According to Dr. Ojukwu, "Admission list will be out before Sunday".

All candidates for screening who registered from 13th to 21st of September 2016 are urgently mandated to revisit the portal (http://portal.unizik.edu.ng) to update their O level result(s) by putting there names AS IT APPEARS on their O level certificate(s). Again, they are to enter their personal phone numbers or those of their sponsors for contact. N/B: There is NO additional charge from the university for this update.

JAMB RELEASES GUIDELINES FOR admissions INTO THE UNIVERSITY

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released what it called the guidelines for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. According to JAMB, the Federal Government has directed that these guidelines be followed strictly without alteration.
GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSIONS INTO TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN NIGERIA - OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR
Sequel to the recent workshop convened by the honourable minister of education on the modalities for admissions into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, the federal government hereby approves the following guidelines for admissions:
1. Presentation of the lists of candidates who qualify for screening into individual based on the stipulated guidelines by JAMB (find hereby enclosed);
2. Screening should not demand for another test in any form either written, oral or electronic;
3. Candidates are to present their senior school certificate examination (SSCE) results/Advance Level (AL) results for verification and clearing purposes;
4. WAEC, NECO, NABTEB results or equivalent are acceptable as matriculation requirements;
5. Each candidate is expected to have a minimum of five (5) credits at SSCE including English, Mathematics and any other three (3) relevant subjects to his or her discipline;
6. Any candidates who does not possess the requirements as listed in item four (4) is deemed to have failed the screening exercise;
7. The list of qualified candidates awaiting SSCE/AL results can be kept in view (K.I.V) pending the release of their results;
8. Consideration of the recommended list as forwarded by JAMB should be completed within one month from the date of receipt of the list;
9. Any institution that has a shortfall in the admitted candidates can make-up for candidates from other departments on the institution list;
10. The screening list has been uploaded on JAMB website www.jamb.org.ng for possible users;
11. Reason(s) for rejection of candidates on the list should be clearly stated with proofs provided alongside; and
12. The federal government has directed that these guidelines should be strictly adhered to without any alteration.
