We cannot appreciate the magnitude of God's gift of eternal life until we first understand that the wages of sin is death. Wages are what we "earned, " what we "deserve. " "Death" is not only physical death, here, but spiritual and eternal death. Our sin was an offense to the infinitely holy God, and thus justly deserved eternal punishment. But God's grace, which was greater than all our sin, brings us eternal life instead.

Dear dying Lamb, you took the guilt of our sins on yourself and you were treated by the Father as if guilty yourself for our sins. He turned away his face and you bore God's wrath against sin as if you had been sin itself, when you hung on Calvary's tree. May we never forget that great sacrifice you made for us. may we never forget the gift of your perfect righteousness. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I want to serve You. Lay on my heart how You want me to serve You. I will go where You want me to go. Stay where You want me to stay, and speak what You tell me to say. Lord, give me confirmation and then courage. Things may seem unlikely or impossible, but I know all things are possible with You. Lead me by Your Holy Spirit. I will follow. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Lord, the stars glorify You. The birds sing Your praise. Heavenly beings proclaim Your holiness. Rocks would cry out in praise if we remained silent. You are worshiped by all Your creation. You made the grass green, my eye to see color, and the cow to eat the grass. Your creation is more complex than I fathom. You reign over Your creation, and You are a good king. I bow before You as king. You are the king of my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Dear God, give me eyes to see where you are sending me to minister. Give me a heart like yours that Is broken for those who do not know you. Give me the words to speak and share your truth with those who need it. When I face hardships, help me remember that this is to be expected, but remind me that though I face hardships, I will see your kingdom. May I be your hands and feet here on Earth, O Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
