In a bold move to accelerate its globalisation agenda, *Caleb University Imota Lagos has strengthened its international academic and diplomatic ties following a high-level strategic visit to the United States Consulate General Lagos*, opening new pathways for research collaboration, faculty exchange, and student opportunities.

The *Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia*, who led the delegation, emphasised that the engagement aligns with the Citadel’s long-term vision of global relevance and academic excellence. “This visit is a deliberate intentional and strategic step towards deepening Caleb University’s international partnerships, enhancing research opportunities, and positioning our institution within the global knowledge ecosystem,” he stated.

The strategic dialogue, which brought together top officials of both institutions, focused on revitalising existing collaborations and exploring new academic frontiers. Central to the discussions was the renewal of Caleb University’s partnership with the University of *North Carolina at Chapel Hill and advancing ongoing engagements with Pennsylvania State University, signalling a renewed push towards transatlantic academic cooperation*.

Responding, *the U.S. Consulate team, led by Public Affairs Officer Julie Mackay*, unveiled a suite of high-impact opportunities for the Caleb community. These include access to the prestigious Fulbright Program, which offers approximately 400 scholarships annually, with dedicated slots for Nigerian scholars, as well as the Fulbright Specialist initiative designed to support curriculum development, research, and academic conferences.

1. Regional Officer (RO)
Reports to: Head of Admissions / Director of Outreach / Vice Chancellor

■ A. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Student Scouting & Intelligence
Identify and map/target fee-paying secondary schools and coaching centres within the assigned region.

👉 Analyse regional demographics to pinpoint areas with high potential enrolment yield.
Maintain a database of prospective students (name, grades, interests, exam scores).

👉Outreach & “Wooing” Programmes
Organise and execute on-ground events: career fairs, university open days, school assemblies, and parent-teacher meetings.
Design and deliver persuasive presentations showcasing the university’s USPs (unique selling points), scholarships, and campus life.
Build relationships with school counsellors, principals, and local education influencers.
Coordinate taster sessions, alumni meet-ups, and faculty-led workshops in the region.

👉Admission Support
Guide prospective students through the application process (form filling, document submission, deadline management).
Coordinate entrance exam centres or interview schedules within the region.

👉Follow up on leads (calls, emails, WhatsApp) to convert inquiries into applications.
Reporting & Logistics
Submit weekly reports on outreach activities, lead generation, and conversion rates.
