There's a saying that "IF YOU CAN LIGHT A CANDLE, DON'T BLAME DARKNESS"
The spate of examination malpractices and poor performance of our students is on daily increase.
Many blame.this on the three major players in this sector. They are the government, the parents and the students themselves. Some hold the opinion that social media and quick rich syndrome - Yahoo yahoo, has taken over the students seriousness with their studies. Other opinions believe that the paucity of teachers in our schools is responsible for the decadence.
It is an axiom that the maxim that poor performance of our students can be divulged from proper tutelage is myopic! Any student with sound and solid background do perform excellently in all their exams and find it very easy to secure admission into their choice Universities to study their choice courses.
A student with sound tutoring would not go for malpractices in examinations. A sound student academically would love reading and hitherto love to further his studies to university level. A sound student academically would shun hooliganism and won't have any flea for quick rich.
There cannot be sound students without sound and experienced tutors! It is a fact that our schools now are almost empty for qualitative teachers, why? Gabbage in, they say is gabbage out. No student can be better than his teacher. The quality teachers are scarce in schools and the half-baked ones produced by this system are now returned back to the system.
Now that the problem is known, the solution is half way.
The problem is poor tutelage/tutoring while the solution is enhanced tutelage/tutoring.
