*REPORT ON THE PARTICIPATION OF NAMLAS UNIVERSITY OF JOS CHAPTER AT THE NAMLAS NATIONAL CONFERENCE, KANO STATE*
The *Nigeria Association of Muslim Law Students (NAMLAS), University of Jos Chapter,* participated in the *Annual National Conference of the Association held in Kano State* . The conference convened Muslim law students from various universities across Nigeria and provided a structured forum for *academic discourse, professional development, leadership engagement, and national cohesion.*
The University of Jos Chapter was represented by a *fourteen (14)-member delegation* , comprising executive officers and general members of the Association. The delegation was led by the *Vice President* , alongside the *Amira* and other principal officers of the Chapter.
Conference Proceedings and Activities
The conference commenced with an *Opening Ceremony* , which featured keynote addresses delivered by distinguished legal practitioners and Islamic scholars, including *Professor M. B. Usman of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.*
The conference programme comprised various academic and professional activities, including debate competitions, moot court competitions, paper presentations, workshops, and specialized training sessions. The University of Jos Chapter actively participated in these activities and progressed to advanced stages of the competitive events.
Special sessions, including the Sisters’ Circle, were organized to address issues relating to female Muslim law students, with emphasis on leadership, ethical development, and professional growth.
The conference also featured the conduct of National Elections, which resulted in the emergence of a new *National Executive Council (EXCO).* In addition, delegates undertook courtesy visits to notable traditional and cultural institutions, including *the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Goron Dusti and Gidan Dan Hausa.*
Achievements of the University of Jos Chapter
The University of Jos Chapter recorded the following notable achievements:
*Emerged First Runner-Up* in the Final Moot Court Competition.
*Emerged First Runner-Up* in the Paper Presentation and Debate Competitions.
*Secured Second, Fourth, and Fifth positions* in the Qur’anic Recitation Competition.
*Participated actively in workshops* on *Artificial Intelligence* and the *Law and Islamic Banking and Finance.*

Members of the University of Jos Chapter were duly elected into the *National Executive Council of NAMLAS,* as follows:

*Aminu Yahuza Umar* — National Organizing Secretary, NAMLAS

The participation of the University of Jos Chapter in the NAMLAS National Conference was both productive and commendable. The delegation conducted itself with professionalism, discipline, and decorum, thereby projecting the University and the Association in a positive light. The conference further reinforced the Chapter’s commitment to academic excellence, Islamic leadership, and professional development.
