GYB: Professor Eniola Fetes Former Kogi Governor on Birthday, Calls Him a Pathfinder

The Vice-Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba (KOSU), PROFESSOR Kehinde Imisi Temitope Eniola fNSM, FRA, has felicitated with former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello Alhaji Yahaya Bello CON, on the occasion of his birthday. In a statement made available to newsmen in Kabba, Professor Eniola described the former governor as a pathfinder whose visionary leadership continues to impact the development of Kogi State.

Professor Eniola commended the former governor for his foresight and commitment to expanding access to higher education through the establishment of Kogi State University, Kabba. He noted that the institution has continued to justify its founding vision and is currently preparing to admit its fourth set of students.

The Vice-Chancellor observed that the establishment of the university remains one of the landmark legacies of the Bello administration, providing educational opportunities for young people while contributing to the socio-economic development of the state.

According to Professor Eniola, Kogi State University, Kabba is passionately pursuing the dream of producing a new generation of leaders and professionals who are globally competitive, nationally recognized, and locally relevant. He stated that the university remains committed to academic excellence, character development, innovation, and community impact in line with the vision that inspired its creation.

He further praised the former governor's commitment to youth inclusion, infrastructural development, and institutional growth, noting that his administration opened new opportunities for young people in governance and public service, thereby inspiring future generations to aspire to leadership and service.

"On behalf of the Kogi State University, Kabba, I heartily congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, on the occasion of his birthday. I deeply celebrate the foresight of the celebrant in establishing this university and his enduring contributions to the advancement of education in Kogi State. As we prepare for our fourth admission exercise, we remain steadfast in our commitment to nurturing leaders and professionals who will make meaningful contributions at the global, national, and local levels," Professor Eniola stated.

The Vice-Chancellor prayed for good health, wisdom, and greater accomplishments for the former governor in the years ahead and wished him a joyful celebration marked by continued fulfilment and impactful service to humanity.

WORKERS' DAY 2026: KOSU VC SALUTES STAFF
-Urges stronger commitments to assigned duties

The Vice-Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, Professor K.I.T. Eniola fNSM has extended warm felicitations to all members of staff on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration.

The Vice-Chancellor commended the University’s workforce for their diligent commitment, professionalism, and resilience, describing staff as the cornerstone of the institution’s academic excellence, administrative efficiency, and sustained growth. He noted that the progresses the university community has recorded across teaching, research, and community service are a direct reflection of the commitment and sacrifices of staff across all cadres.

He particularly acknowledged the critical contributions of both teaching and non-academic staff whose daily efforts continue to strengthen institutional capacity, enhance service delivery, and uphold the University’s reputation as a centre of learning, innovation, and resourcefulness.

Reflecting on the theme of this year’s May Day celebration, “Insecurity, Poverty—Bane of Decent Work,” the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the commitment of management, and, indeed, the government, toward a secure, inclusive, and enabling work environment that promotes staff welfare, productivity, and professional development.

Professor Eniola reaffirmed Management’s commitment to policies and initiatives aimed at improving working conditions, supporting career advancement, and fostering a culture of excellence, equity, and motivation within the University system.

He further urged staff to remain steadfast, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, and embrace continuous learning in the discharge of their responsibilities.

KSU Kabba VC Receives Merit Award

The Vice-Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, Prof. K.I.T. Eniola, has received an Award of Merit from the Center for Ethics and Self Value Orientation for his transparency and ethical leadership.

Presenting the award, the Executive Director, Prince Saliu Musa Yakubu, praised the Vice-Chancellor’s openness and commitment to good governance. He also announced 100 training slots each for students and staff to promote ethical values and personal development.

The bursar, registrar, librarian, and deans were also commended for their support. Prof. Eniola, in his response, thanked the Centre and highlighted the university’s progress from its establishment to date.
