Habila Gwom (aka Oxford) passed on today as a result of the health challenge he battled with since January 03, 2026. Until his passing, he was a BA student of our Seminary. He came around in December 2025 with much zeal to come back to school and complete his programme in 2026. But it was not meant to be.

May we pray, especially for his wife, that God may grant her special comfort! 🙏

We shall keep you abreast on the funeral arrangements as soon as those are made available.

We received news about the passing of our dear student, Joseph James. He was a 400-level student of Theology, specialising in Pastoral Studies.

Reports indicate that Joseph fell from a tree last Friday and was rushed to the hospital, where he received medical attention. Sadly, he passed away this morning.

The funeral is ongoing (Jan 15, 2026) at First ECWA Kufana, Kasuwan Magani DCC.

This is another story in the growing pattern of mob violence killings in Nigeria.

In southern Kaduna, Pastor Dio Idon was lynched by a mob over allegations of witchcraft and burned to ashes after the death of his brother. The killing occurred on 4 January 2026.

This case reflects a wider and deeply troubling trend where people are accused, attacked, and killed without trial, while accountability remains rare.

Mob violence thrives where justice fails.

Late Rev. Baba Bello Misal was an alumnus of ECWA Theological Seminary, Kagoro who passed on Christmas day, 25 December 2025. He rose through the ranks of ECWAꞌs leadership and served as the Vice President of ECWA. He was buried on Saturday, January 03, 2026 in Gombe State. Today, we received with sadness the news that our student, Pastor Dio Idon, who left here in the August-December 2025 semester was massacred by a mob following witchcraft accusations. His brother had passed after a period of sickness. When that happened, the community attacked, and killed him, and burned his body to ashes. This sad event occured yesterday, Sunday 04 January 2026. He was the pastor of ECWA Ungwa Shaawa LC, Kasuwan Magani DCC.

Let us pray for his family for God's comfort. Let us pray for the spiritual transformation of these barbaric perpetrators of evil. Yahweh comforts! 🙏
