😂 “My First Mortuary Posting… My Confidence Expired Before I Entered”
They announced: “Today, we’re going for mortuary/autopsy posting.”
I smiled with fake confidence and said, “No wahala 😌 Dead bodies can’t hurt anyone.”
Ahhh… Na there my problem started.
The moment we got to the mortuary entrance, my boldness refused to follow me inside.
The attendant opened the door gently…
First thing that greeted me? Cold air.
Second thing? That smell.
That strange “hospital but not quite hospital” smell.
Immediately, my spirit began reciting Psalms without permission.
The place was silent.
Too silent.
No patients talking. No monitor beeping. No nurses shouting instructions.
Just silence… and stainless steel tables everywhere.
At that point, every horror movie I had ever watched started replaying in my head.
Then the pathologist walked in calmly like this was a normal Tuesday morning.
“Good morning everyone,” he said.
Good morning where sir? 😭 This environment stopped feeling like morning long ago.
Then he pulled out a body covered in white cloth.
My heartbeat increased academically.
Some students moved closer to observe.
Me? I respected myself and maintained social distancing.
As the doctor was teaching: “Cause of death can be identified during examination…”
I was pretending to listen, but my brain was busy checking whether the co**se moved.
Then one unserious student beside me whispered: “Imagine if this person suddenly sits up now 😂”
Omo. My soul nearly logged out.
From that moment, I trusted nobody. Even the co**se started looking suspicious.
Then the autopsy began…
Jesus is Lord.
Movies did not prepare me for real life at all.
The sounds. The instruments. The smell.
Everything became too real instantly.
Meanwhile, the pathologist was teaching peacefully like he was filming a cooking show.
“This organ appears enlarged…”
Sir, my fear is what’s enlarged right now 😭
Then suddenly—
CLANGGGG!!! 🔊
One metal tray fell loudly. 😂😂😂
