Regarding These City-Foolish-Boys!
My primary consolation is this, those who campaign to return this present regime do not normally have any magnetic opinion or attractive qualities of their principal, except maybe threats, violence, vitriols and curses, and at worst, sentiments against oppositions or truth sayers. Sentiments that are not usually unrelated to bigotry and self-centeredness, and which, to me, usually make them look more stupid than they might be benefitting from the dirty job.
Again, their principal knows well how to pay people who had publicly hated or rejected him in the past. He makes them lick back their vomit and reproduces himself out of them. Ooh, their master strategist!
Reno Omokri, for instance, led the campaign that exposed his current employer for his past illicit drug deals. However, after the inauguration, Reno auctioned out his loyalty by actively hating on His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi and subtly calumnizing the entire Ndiigbo people. But how was he paid back? Reno was recruited and sent to Mexico, the hub of world drug deals. Now he's been unwittingly conscripted into the drug trade. I mean Reno is now a drug baron in Mexico.
What about Daniel Bwala? Bwala is a brilliant lawyer, a vibrant and firebrand communicator. He vehemently spoke against the emergence of his current boss, exposing the facts and conditions behind his convictions. Bwala was so sure that the man eyeing the First Seat then is such a calamity that, even if given thirty-years, there would never be any breakthrough or achievement by his government. The world was witness to his campaigns and admired his guts and intellects. But guess how he was paid back too after trading his loyalty to gratify the whims of his stomach?
Mr Bwala was bought over and tactically sent to the world stage to go and defend the man he formerly knew as "indefensible"—a job no one has ever done successfully without first appearing like a foolish local clown. At Al Jazeera, the firebrand communicator was moderately Hassanized without his own consent and he shamelessly recreated his boss's full ineptitude. No one would have thought that Bwala was also half-fool-half-empty until that function with Medhi Hassan!
This is why I can never envy these City clown Boys.
