Condolence Message

On behalf of the National Alumni President of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Comrade Muhammad Sani Gashash, and the entire Alumni Association, we extend our deepest condolences to the Management of the University and to the immediate guardian and family of the late Adamu Fatima Muhammad, a 200-level student of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences.

We received with great shock and sadness the news of her sudden passing after a brief illness. Fatima was described as a humble, dedicated, and promising student whose loss has not only created a deep vacuum in the hearts of her loved ones but has also thrown the entire IBBUL community into mourning.

While words cannot fully capture the pain of this great loss, we pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, grants her Jannatul Firdaus, and gives her guardian, only surviving brother, and all who mourn her the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

The Alumni family stands in solidarity with the University Management, staff, and students during this trying moment, as we continue to remember and honor the beautiful soul that has departed.

PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release.

National Alumni President Disowns Illegal "Reconciliation Committee" Describes Them as "Rabble-rousers".

The attention of the National Alumni President, Comrade Muhammad Sani Gashash Dan Chekpan Nupe (Dodon Dawa), has been drawn to a purported group parading itself as an “Alumni Reconciliation Committee.”

The said group is neither recognized nor inaugurated by the National Alumni President or the Congress, the only constitutionally empowered bodies to constitute committees on behalf of the Alumni Association.

It is important to stress that the Alumni Constitution is very clear: only the President, working in concert with Congress, has the legitimate authority to appoint and inaugurate committees. Any attempt to circumvent this procedure is not only illegal but also an affront to the collective will of the Alumni body.

The so-called “committee,” in their gross ignorance of the constitution, have gone ahead to publish two contradictory reports, both riddled with inconsistencies. Their intention is obvious to confuse, mislead, and sow unnecessary division among our members. Such actions are nothing short of deliberate mischief, orchestrated by individuals who seek cheap popularity and relevance at the expense of the unity and progress of our Alumni.

It is unfortunate that instead of channeling their energy into constructive engagements, these individuals have chosen the path of blackmail and propaganda. By spreading falsehoods and concocted reports, they seek to ridicule the good image of our Alma Mater, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, which has consistently stood as a beacon of academic excellence and integrity. This reckless behavior undermines not only the Alumni Association but also the reputation of the University we all take pride in.

The unfortunate group masquerading as a reconciliation committee are nothing but a bunch of ignorant, myopic, half-baked elements who do not know what they are doing.

Their activities are fraudulent in nature, lacking any credibility, and expose their desperation to destabilize the Alumni body. They represent the very opposite of the values and ideals of our Association.

Their activities are nothing but a calculated attempt to drag the name of IBBUL into unnecessary controversies, thereby tarnishing the respect our University has earned both nationally and internationally.

This is a dangerous and shameful move, and we call on all well meaning Alumni to reject these acts of sabotage and expose the mischief for what it truly is a desperate bid to destroy rather than to build.

We must state unequivocally that their so-called “report” is null and void and carries no weight whatsoever. Alumni members are hereby reminded that there is a clear distinction between a Reconciliation Committee and a Disciplinary Committee as provided in our constitution.

This basic ignorance alone further exposes the lack of credibility and bad faith of the impostors.

The National Alumni executives, under the able leadership of Comrade Muhammad Sani Gashash, remain focused, determined, and fully committed to fostering unity, driving positive change in our Alma Mater, and protecting the integrity of the Alumni Association. No amount of mischief or distraction will derail this vision.

We urge all Alumni members to disregard the antics of these impostors and remain steadfast in the pursuit of our collective progress.

Signed: comrade Ishaq Suleyman National Alumni Secretary General for the National Alumni president.

*OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL ALUMNI PRESIDENT*

Good afternoon and Jumaat Mubarak.

The attention of the National Alumni President of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, *Comrade Muhammad Sani Gashash Dan Chekpan Nupe Dodon Dawa*, has been drawn to certain information being circulated regarding the constitution of a so-called *"Alumni Reconciliation Committee*."

For the avoidance of doubt, the National Alumni President wishes to categorically state that he is not aware of the constitution of any such committee. This move is nothing but the handiwork of mischief makers who are bent on creating disunity within our great association.

We also wish to note that Alh. Salihu Isah Kantigi, who was falsely presented as Chairman of this purported committee, has himself resigned and dissociated from the activities of the said group.

The leadership of the Alumni Association remains focused and committed to serving the best interests of our members and contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of our beloved alma mater, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

We therefore call on all members to disregard any attempt to mislead or divide us. Let us remain united, because united we stand, divided we fall.

We deeply appreciate your trust and confidence in our leadership, and we assure you that we shall continue to keep you posted on all genuine activities of our association.

Thank you, and may peace and unity continue to guide our association.

The Association of Nigerian University Alumni (ANAU) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening alumni participation in the development and sustainable funding of Nigerian universities.
