FUAMB FLAGS OFF MAIDEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS ACQUISITION TRAINING FOR 100 PARTICIPANTS
The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), has successfully flagged off its first-ever Entrepreneurship Skills and Acquisition Training Programme for 100 participants, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s drive to promote practical skills and self-reliance among undergraduate.
The two-week intensive training programme is being implemented by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship FUAMB, and is fully sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) as part of its nationwide initiative to enhance students’ practical and entrepreneurial competencies across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The programme focuses on livestock production and agribusiness livestock production. key training areas include modern cattle breeding techniques, feed formulation and ingredient selection, effective livestock management practices, and strategic marketing approaches. The initiative is designed to equip students with hands-on knowledge and entrepreneurial skills that will enable them to bridge the agripreneurship gap and become self-reliant upon graduation.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Director of the Entrepreneurship Unit, FUAMB, Prof. Philip Addass, who is also the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, welcomed Deans, Directors, resource persons from various fields, and participants to the maiden training programme. He commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, for his unwavering commitment to positioning FUAMB as a leading institution in skills acquisition and entrepreneurship education, in line with TETFund’s vision.
Professor Addas urged the students to value and fully utilize the opportunity, emphasizing that discipline, punctuality, and seriousness would enable them to become worthy ambassadors of the University.
