FUAMB VC RECEIVES FEDERAL MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY ADAMAWA STATE DELEGATION, EXPRESSES READINESS FOR STRONGER COLLABORATION.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), Professor Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, has received a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Adamawa State Chapter, at the University’s Temporary Academic Site, IJMB, Mubi.

The delegation, led by the state coordinator Mr Isa Saidu Jabu, visited the University on Monday, 10th August 2026, to explore opportunities for stronger collaboration between FUAMB and the Ministry in agricultural research, innovation, advanced farming practices, technological applications, and practical agricultural education.

The delegation was received by the Vice-Chancellor alongside the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Professor Jesse Silas Mshelia.

During the visit, Professor Jesse Silas Mshelia led the delegation on an inspection tour of the University’s demonstration farms at the IJMB site, where they were briefed on various ongoing research programmes and practical agricultural activities being undertaken by the University.

The delegation commended FUAMB for its commitment to research-driven agricultural education and its deliberate efforts to complement classroom instruction with hands-on field experience. They also applauded the progress recorded in the University’s research activities, noting that such initiatives are essential to producing competent and experienced agricultural professionals capable of contributing to Nigeria’s agricultural development.

Speaking during the tour, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, described the visit as timely and significant to the University’s vision. He appreciated the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for its support and expressed FUAMB’s readiness to further strengthen its partnership with the Ministry.

FUAMB FLAGS OFF MAIDEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS ACQUISITION TRAINING FOR 100 PARTICIPANTS

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), has successfully flagged off its first-ever Entrepreneurship Skills and Acquisition Training Programme for 100 participants, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s drive to promote practical skills and self-reliance among undergraduate.

The two-week intensive training programme is being implemented by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship FUAMB, and is fully sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) as part of its nationwide initiative to enhance students’ practical and entrepreneurial competencies across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The programme focuses on livestock production and agribusiness livestock production. key training areas include modern cattle breeding techniques, feed formulation and ingredient selection, effective livestock management practices, and strategic marketing approaches. The initiative is designed to equip students with hands-on knowledge and entrepreneurial skills that will enable them to bridge the agripreneurship gap and become self-reliant upon graduation.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Director of the Entrepreneurship Unit, FUAMB, Prof. Philip Addass, who is also the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, welcomed Deans, Directors, resource persons from various fields, and participants to the maiden training programme. He commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, for his unwavering commitment to positioning FUAMB as a leading institution in skills acquisition and entrepreneurship education, in line with TETFund’s vision.

Professor Addas urged the students to value and fully utilize the opportunity, emphasizing that discipline, punctuality, and seriousness would enable them to become worthy ambassadors of the University.
