CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), deeply regrets the painful loss of one of its staff members, Mr Babagana Kachalla, who sadly passed away following a road accident while returning home for his annual leave.

The Vice Chancellor, on behalf of the University Council, Management, staff, and students, extends its heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, relatives, friends, the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, and the entire Faculty. His untimely passing is a significant loss to the University community.

At this moment of profound grief, we stand in solidarity with all those affected, praying and hoping that they find strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. May his legacy of service and dedication be remembered with honour.

FUAMB GETS NEW BURSAR AS MR. B.H. USMANA BOWS OUT

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), has recorded a landmark achievement in the management of its financial affairs with the appointment of Mr. Taofiq Isiaka as its substantive University Bursar. The development has been widely applauded as a thoughtful, merit-driven decision that reinforces the university’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and sustainable financial management.

The letter of appointment was then presented to the new bursar by the Chairman of the Governing Council and Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Rukayyatu Gurin, mni, who led other council members after a rigorous screening interview that led to his emergence. The competitive process, which involved twelve shortlisted candidates, was held in Yola, Adamawa State, with credibility, fairness, and strict adherence to due process characterizing the exercise.

Mr. Taofiq Isiaka, 42 years of age, is a graduate of the University of Ilorin and takes over from the pioneer Bursar of FUAMB Mr. Usmana Bitrus Hudson, following his retirement from service.
The out-going Bursar, an indigene of Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, previously served as Bursar of the University of Maiduguri for over a decade and his wealth of experience was instrumental in the successful takeoff of FUAMB.

Professionally, Mr. Isiaka brings remarkable depth and continuity. He joined the National Open University of Nigeria in 2011 as a Senior Accountant and rose through the ranks, serving in key bursary units. Notably, he was twice appointed Acting University Bursar, which underscores his institutional competence and confidence in his leadership capability.

FUAMB FLAGS OFF MAIDEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS ACQUISITION TRAINING FOR 100 PARTICIPANTS

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), has successfully flagged off its first-ever Entrepreneurship Skills and Acquisition Training Programme for 100 participants, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s drive to promote practical skills and self-reliance among undergraduate.

The two-week intensive training programme is being implemented by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship FUAMB, and is fully sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) as part of its nationwide initiative to enhance students’ practical and entrepreneurial competencies across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The programme focuses on livestock production and agribusiness livestock production. key training areas include modern cattle breeding techniques, feed formulation and ingredient selection, effective livestock management practices, and strategic marketing approaches. The initiative is designed to equip students with hands-on knowledge and entrepreneurial skills that will enable them to bridge the agripreneurship gap and become self-reliant upon graduation.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Director of the Entrepreneurship Unit, FUAMB, Prof. Philip Addass, who is also the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, welcomed Deans, Directors, resource persons from various fields, and participants to the maiden training programme. He commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, for his unwavering commitment to positioning FUAMB as a leading institution in skills acquisition and entrepreneurship education, in line with TETFund’s vision.

Professor Addas urged the students to value and fully utilize the opportunity, emphasizing that discipline, punctuality, and seriousness would enable them to become worthy ambassadors of the University. He further assured participants that more entrepreneurship and skills acquisition programmes are in the pipeline.

FUAMB VC VISITS THE MBEGE KA OF MICHIKA, TO STRENGTHEN TIES FOR EDUCATIONAL AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT.

In its continuous efforts to strengthen ties with neighbouring communities while further consolidating the cordial relationship already established, the Vice Chancellor Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi Prof. Bitrus Dawi Tarfa has led a delegation of the management staff of the university to the Mbege ka of Michika His Royal Highness Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga.

He said the visit is a child of necessity considering His Royal Highness unwavering commitment in advancing education and agricultural development thereby appealing for sustained collaboration, particularly in admission, agriculture and research, urging qualified candidates within the community to take advantage of the available opportunities at FUAMB noting that the university’s admission portal remains open for eligible candidates seeking admission.

The Mbege ka of Michika Prof. Bulus Luka says his chiefdom will support FUAMB where necessary and commended the Vice Chancellor for the developmental strides achieved so far. He also appreciated the leadership of His Excellency, Rt Hon Dr. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the maximum support provided for the smooth take-off of FUAMB.

Similarly, Registration will commence on Monday, 8th December, 2025 and will close on Friday, 9th January, 2026. Students are strongly advised to complete their registration within the stipulated period, as late registration will attract additional fee.
