UNIVERSITY OF OFFA HOLDS SUCCESSFUL 4TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY
The University of Offa has successfully held its Matriculation Ceremony for newly admitted students, marking the formal conclusion of activities for the 2025/2026 academic matriculation exercise.
The event took place at the University campus and brought together members of the University Management, academic and non-academic staff, dignitaries, parents, guardians, and students. It served as an opportunity to further orient the fresh students on academic expectations, institutional values, and campus life following their formal admission into the University.
Almost four hundred students were welcomed into the University of Offa on January 22, 2026, by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, an unprecedented feat in the institution's history since its inception, which the Vice-Chancellor made realistic within four months of assuming office.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the students on their admission and urged them to pursue academic excellence with discipline and integrity. He reminded them that admission into the University comes with responsibilities, including strict adherence to the institution’s rules and regulations.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the Matriculation Oath by the Registrar, Mr. Jibola Oyewale, who led the students in pledging to abide by the statutes governing the University of Offa. The oath-taking formally bound the students to the authority and values of the institution.
The Registrar stressed that the oath was a solemn commitment and not just a ceremonial rite and advised the students to conduct themselves responsibly throughout their academic journey.
The ceremony also featured goodwill messages from the proprietor/funder of the University, Alhaji (Dr.) AbdulRasaq Oyewale, alongside sensitization talks on academic regulations, campus safety, and student welfare.
The University of Offa reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education in a conducive learning environment aimed at producing responsible and well-grounded graduates who will contribute meaningfully to national development
