Updates on Otumara Community Youth Activities

Following what happened between former Otumara Community Youth Chairman, Omonigho Ijeta and one Prince Jakpo on January 18, 2024 where the former youth Chairman appeared before the community elders January 27, 2024 with indebt investigations, the community elders ànd youths and women felt embarrassed with the development.

The elders in their wisdom asked the youth body to handle the matter since the embattled chairman was their leader.
With that mandate, the Vice Chairman of the youth body, Comr. Ovie Umunu summoned meeting of the youth body and in the said meeting, the embattled chairman was asked to step down haven bringing ridicule to the community and to enable him pursue his case with man that accused him of stealing.

The Congress in session also resolved that since his tenure has not elapsed, his younger brother, Oghenedoro James haven contested the internal election with another of the former Chairman brother, Frank Akpeninor emerged as the winner of the election and immediately the Vice Chairman of the body handled over leadership to Oghenedoro James.

Frank Akpeninor immediately congratulated Oghenedoro James who scored nine votes to defect Frank Akpeninor who pulled three votes.

As the news of the development filters into Otumara Community, there were jubilation, amid dance, music that pervaded the air praising the Vice Chairman and the youth executives for saving the community's name from the ridiculous act the former Chairman activities almost plugged the name.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of Otumara Community Youth, Oghenedoro James commended the community for finding him worthy. He noted that he initially rejected the offer but on second thought decided to complete his family tenure. He promised to use the remaining one year, two months to reunite the community and attract development.

He also promised to run all inclusive government, noted that he would be a servant-leader and not someone that would laud the people.

Brief History of the Institute
All Nations Institute of Marine and Technology is a private Institute in Nigeria. It was incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2017 and became fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in 2018.

It is located in Oghara town. Headquarter of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State - Nigeria.Oghara is a boundary town between Edo and Delta State, bounded by the Osiomo River at the North, the Jameson River and the Ethiope River in the South with dense population along the bank of the River. The Ethiope River is believed to be the deepest river in West Africa and cavernous enough to harbor ocean-going vessels.

This account for the reason why Oghara Town has flourished in Maritime activities over the years, recording the highest traffic flow of heavy ocean-going vessels engaged in water transportation of agricultural, oil and gas. and industrial finished products in and out of the region.

Regrettably, in spite of this high level of maritime activities in the area, young men and women from the community and the region have been denied employment in the industry for lack of qualified personnel.

In order to breach this gap, All Nations Institute of Marine and Technology has been established to provide a strong, reliable and sustainable learning ground for the training and production of the needed manpower (personnel) in the Maritime industry and other sectors of nation’s economy.
