Celebrating Workers’ Day and Welcoming the Month of May

Dear Esteemed Members of the Crawford University Community,

Warm greetings to you all as we step into the month of May—a season that begins on a profound and reflective note with the celebration of Workers’ Day.

This special occasion offers us a meaningful opportunity to honor the dignity of labour, the spirit of dedication, and the untiring commitment that each member of our University community brings to the collective pursuit of excellence. From our academic staff to our administrative personnel, from our students and Parents, to our support teams, your daily efforts form the backbone of the progress we proudly celebrate.

As we reflect on the journey thus far, it is important to acknowledge that whatever success we have recorded as an institution has not been by human strength alone. Rather, it is a testament to God’s benevolence, grace, and sustaining power. His faithfulness has guided our paths, strengthened our resolve, and crowned our efforts with remarkable achievements.

As we move forward into this new month, may we continue to work with renewed vigour, deeper unity, and an unshakeable commitment to our shared vision. Let us remain inspired by the understanding that our labour is not in vain, especially when anchored in purpose and guided by divine wisdom.

CRAWFORD UNIVERSITY STRENGTHENS INDUSTRY LINKAGES WITH ITF COLLABORATION
Crawford University has reaffirmed its commitment to producing industry-ready graduates through strengthened collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), a Federal Government agency under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, on the 15th of April 2026.

The ITF delegation, during a recent visit to the University, emphasized its core mandate of bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practice. The team in person’s of Engr. Gabriel Ntak (Head of Training, ITF Area Office, Abeokuta), Mrs Cynthia Otuwarikpo and Mr Olukolade Aje(both are SIWES officers from Area office) noted that their engagement with Crawford University is geared towards deepening collaboration that will ensure students are adequately groomed with relevant industrial knowledge and practical exposure.

During this seminar, students interacted well, voiced off and expressed themselves well. They complained about how industries and organizations treat them badly, poorly and through lackadaisical language/behavior at them faces without payment allowances despite all risk of transportation taken, mental stress and unending effort to make impacts in the organization situated in.

At the expense of this, the team announced plans for an upcoming retreat involving all participating institutions under the ITF scheme. The retreat they stated, will provide a strategic platform for stakeholders to brainstorm, share experiences, and proffer solutions to challenges encountered in the course of implementation.

According to the delegation, integrating academic learning with hands-on industry experience will enable students to gain firsthand insight into workplace realities, thereby enhancing their employability and professional competence. They further assured the University of ITF’s continuous support in achieving these objectives.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Crawford University reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering commitment to the partnership, noting that the collaboration aligns with the University’s vision of academic excellence and practical relevance. He assured the ITF delegation that Crawford University will be fully represented at the forthcoming retreat and will continue to play an active role in advancing the objectives of the initiative.
This collaboration underscores Crawford University’s proactive approach to fostering industry-academia synergy and equipping students with the skills required to thrive in a dynamic global workforce.
