Education is the foundation of modern development. This knowing has led the Champions Academy Foundation to champion the course of developing education in the rural communities and to provide incentives that will attract children to embrace being educated through the schools.

Rural communities across Nigeria have witnessed a drastic increase in the number of school drop-outs. This is largely due to economic reasons and the worst hit is the girl-child. Many heads of family believes in investing their lean resources on educating their male children with the hope that they will do well and sustain the family name while giving less attention to the education of the girl-child who they erroneously believed will be married off one day, hence they may not be able to sustain the family name as the male children.

The “Education Support Scheme” (ESS) is an initiative of Champions Academy Foundation aimed at supporting students and schools in the delivery of quality education in the rural communities. The Champions Academy Foundation through the ESS initiative provides basic student support incentives like schoolbooks, school uniforms, school fees, school bags etc while supporting the schools in the areas of human capital development.

EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS: Through the ESS initiative, the Champions Academy Foundation Community Development Initiative provide incentives like notebooks, textbooks, school bags, school uniforms and other materials for the children in the rural communities.

HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT: Champions Academy Foundation Community Development Initiative through the ESS initiative have facilitated the training and retraining of teachers and school administrators both locally and internationally.

This is to provide basic education for the less privileged children in those communities.

Mathematics continues to be an obstacle to the ambition of Many Students at all levels of the Education system in Nigeria. Many will want to avoid it if were possible. What Champions Mathematics Challenged Scheme sets out to do is to provide a stepping stone to enable aspiring Students to realise their ambition. Mathematics is a Subject for all because virtually everybody be it Engineers, Doctors, Accountants, Lawyers, Carpenters, Tailors, Farmers make use of aspects of Mathematics in their daily activities.
The performances in the subject has been very low either due to poor teaching or carelessness of the student or the percieved phobia for the Subject. The courage of Champions Academy Educational Support Scheme to initiate this scheme is a confidence enhancement tonic for learner's to keep learning. Despite all the efforts aimed at improving the performance of Mathematics. The performance of candidates in internal and external Examinations in Secondary level continue to decline.
The scheme was initiated to address this Problems and to increase the probability of Mathematics Success in Examination. The founder (Sunday Chibueze Orji A.k.a Professor) possesses very long and rich experience of Teaching Mathematics to the students preparing for Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination (JME), West African Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), GMAT, Post UTME and other examination.
Endeavours has been made to cover the syllabus and scheme of work exhaustively and present the subject matter in a systematic style.
It is our hope that the many effort of research and development invested in this scheme will yield dividend of promoting Mathematics as a core Subject to our Education system.
I gladly recommend this Scheme to state ministries of education federal republic of Nigeria, secondary Institution and relevant Education authorities for the purpose of producing best learning outcome and most importantly for attaining the goals of the Education curriculum in Mathematics.

OBJECTIVES

👉 To give Students an opportunity to discover talent in Mathematics.

REGISTRATION.
A Non-refundable enrolment Fee of N500.00 and a Monthly Fee of N500.00 per Student be paid and submitted for Collection with list of ENROLLMENT FORM to Champions Academy Educational Support Scheme (CAESS).

BENEFITS
👉 All REGISTERED student will receive Champions Academy Educational Support Scheme Exercise Notebook and a Pen.
👉 5 Outstanding Students are rewarded N25,000.00 each to commensurate their effort annually at the centre.

DURATION
The duration of the Scheme is 2Hours every Saturday.

MODE OF RECRUITMENT (NYSC)
Local Government Area(LGA) Management Authorities are to shortlist NYSC members for Participation of Champions Mathematics Challenged Scheme (Employment) for posting to their various selected centers as an INSTRUCTORS.
NYSC RECRUITED members will be properly trained and adequately scrutinized for the Scheme.
Thereafter, the Distribution of Champions Academy Educational Support Scheme KITS (Exercise Notebook, Pen, Scheme of Work for Junior and Senior Secondary Mathematics).

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENT
👉 Properly Completed Form
👉 2 Passport photograph

OPERATIONAL SYSTEM
At every Champions Mathematics Challenged Scheme Centres, Six(6) NYSC Members are posted as an instructor and a management staff of Champions Academy Educational Support Scheme as an internal Coordinator respectively.

PAYMENT PLAN
👉 Every recruited (Employed) NYSC Member will Recieve a monthly stipend of N30,000.00 and an Additional N5,000.00. For transportation and feeding allowances (Instructors).

👉 Every Recruited (employed) management staff of CAESS will Recieve a monthly stipend of N20,000.00 and an additional N5000.00 for transportation and feeding allowances (Internal Coordinator)

VOCABULARY GAME

Vocabulary is an important part of every subject; there are always words that students need to learn in order to better understand the concepts being taught. Unfortunately, many students struggle to remember what unfamiliar vocabulary words mean, or feel intimidated by the idea of simply memorizing definitions. No matter your subject material, you can help students learn difficult vocabulary using Champions classroom vocabulary games!

SYNONYMS
Associating a vocabulary word with its synonyms is a great way to form lasting connections between the word and its definition.

Here’s an EXERCISE you can try with your STUDENTS:

👉 Break the class into 2 groups.
👉 Assign each group half of the vocabulary words.
👉 Have students use a dictionary, thesaurus, or the Internet to discover synonyms for each vocabulary word.
👉 Then, have the groups take turns reading the list of synonyms to the other group.
👉 See if the groups can figure out what the word is based on its synonyms.

NEWSPAPER SEARCH
For a quieter activity for individuals or smaller groups, try having students look for pictures or articles in newspapers or magazines that relate to each vocabulary word. Give your students a set amount of time to complete the assignment then have them present their findings in groups or to the class.

FLYSWATTER GAME
👉 Write each vocabulary word on the board.
👉 Divide the class into 2 teams.
👉 Have one student from each team come to the board holding a flyswatter.
👉 Read the definition of a vocabulary word.
👉 Students should race to see who can locate the correct word on the board the fastest.
👉 When they find it, they should hit the word on the board with the flyswatter.
👉 Play until everyone in the class has had at least one turn!

Classroom vocabulary games are some of the many fun teaching games out there and a great way to motivate students to study the words. It also helps them review the definitions. Most of these games don’t require a lot of preparation to play, so you can play them whenever you have extra time that you need to fill or just need a fun activity!

MATH QUIZ
This is a fun way for teenagers to brush their math.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:

👉 Minimum – 4, 👉 Maximum – 8

YOU WILL NEED:

👉 A set of questions from math.
👉 Paper and pen for keeping score.
SETUP:

👉 Collect math and quantitative aptitude questions.
👉 Make sure that the questions are clear and easy to understand.
👉 Try to include real life scenarios in the questions to make it relevant.

HOW TO PLAY:

👉 Math Quiz is similar to trivia, except that it is dedicated to quantitative abilities.
👉 Ask the teams a question and let everyone work on the problem.
👉 Give the teams at least one minute to come up with the answer.

The idea is to encourage teenagers to rely on their quantitative abilities instead of using electronic calculators.

CONVERSATION GAME
Conversation is a simple vocabulary game that can be played anywhere. It is an interactive game that teaches them the art of conversation.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:

👉 Minimum – 2, 👉 Maximum – 10 (5 groups of 2 each)

YOU WILL NEED:

👉 A list of words

SETUP:

👉 Create at least five sets of 10 words each.
👉 Ask the members of the group to sit facing each other.
👉 A moderator for timing the activity.
👉 Paper and pen for keeping score.

HOW TO PLAY:

👉 Give the players a set of 10 words.
👉 Tell them to use the words in a conversation.
👉 Give them 10 seconds to think and one minute to complete the conversation.
👉 Participants have to use the listed words in a meaningful way.
👉 If players fail to use all ten words in their one-minute conversation, they don’t score anything.

This game helps to teach kids how words can be used in different contexts in a conversation.
