OGUN STATE COOPERATIVE COLLEGE AT 34: CELEBRATING LEGACY, ADVANCING THE FUTURE (Founded 11th December 1991)

Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone, 34 years of purposeful learning, leadership development, and unwavering commitment to Cooperative excellence at Ogun State Cooperative College. Since our establishment on 11th December 1991, the College has stood as a beacon of knowledge, service, and innovation in the cooperative sector, not only within Ogun State but across the nation.

Over the years, we have proudly contributed to the growth and transformation of the Cooperative Movement. Numerous Cooperative leaders, administrators, and professionals across various fields have emerged from our institution, carrying with them the discipline, values, and expertise nurtured within our walls. Their impact continues to be felt in government agencies, private enterprises, community organizations, and cooperative societies nationwide.

At Ogun State Cooperative College, our mission extends beyond academic instruction. We are deeply committed to entrepreneurial development, ensuring that our students graduate not only as competent Cooperative leaders but also as innovative thinkers and wealth creators. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical exposure, and enterprise-driven learning, we empower our students with the skills needed to thrive in today’s dynamic economic environment.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we also look forward with renewed determination and clarity of purpose. The world is evolving rapidly, and so must we. In this regard, we look forward to enhanced support from the Government of Ogun State, championed through the leadership of the Ministry, to further strengthen the College and position us to become a truly self-sufficient and future-ready institution. With continued investment and collaboration, we can expand our infrastructure, deepen our programmes, and unlock even greater potential for our students and the cooperative sector.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated staff, who continue to uphold the values that define our College. To our students, you remain the promise of tomorrow, and we applaud your resilience and dedication. To our alumni, thank you for representing us with excellence. To all our past academic and non-academic staff, we say thank you for bequeathing a treasure on to us. And to the Government of Ogun State and all our partners – Cooperative Societies and Unions as well as the Ogun State Co-operative Federation Limited - your support continues to guide and energize our Mission.

At the heart of this achievement is practical, hands-on training. Students are gaining valuable entrepreneurship skills through projects like petroleum jelly production, adire making, and more. In addition, they are receiving practical training in Computer Applications and Information Communication Technology, equipping them with the digital skills needed to succeed in today’s fast-paced economy.

The College remains committed to professional development, innovation, and instilling Cooperative values, preparing a new generation of socially responsible, business-savvy, and tech-ready leaders.
