*WHEN THE ALTAR BECOMES A MARKETPLACE*

_A Prophetic Warning Against Commercial Christianity_

*Amb. Samuel Albert*
Chancellor, Confident Bible University

*BELOVED SERVANTS OF GOD,*
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I write today with a deep burden in my spirit concerning the direction of many ministries and churches in our generation.

This letter is not written out of hatred, bitterness, or rebellion against ministers, but out of sincere concern for the purity, dignity, and integrity of the Body of Christ.

Sadly, many altars that were once centers of prayer, holiness, discipleship, and sound doctrine are gradually becoming marketplaces of religious commerce.

Many pulpits now prioritize fundraising above repentance, emotional manipulation above spiritual transformation, and financial pressure above biblical truth.

This is a dangerous trend.

The Church of Jesus Christ must return to apostolic purity.

*THE GOSPEL IS NOT A BUSINESS ENTERPRISE*
The gospel was never designed to become a tool for personal enrichment or financial exploitation.

The power of God is sacred.
The anointing is holy
Salvation is free

Yet in many places today, ministry has become heavily commercialized.

Some have turned sacred things into products for sale:
* Prophecy for a seed
* Prayer for payment
* Miracles for offerings
* Mantles for money
* Oil for breakthroughs
* Deliverance for financial sacrifice

This is not the spirit of Christ.

The Bible says:
“Freely you have received, freely give.”
— Matthew 10:8

There is a difference between honorable kingdom support and exploiting people financially in the name of ministry.

*WHEN JESUS CLEANSED THE TEMPLE*
One of the strongest reactions Jesus ever displayed during His earthly ministry was against corruption in the house of God.

The Bible declares:
“My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.”
— Matthew 21:13

Jesus overturned tables because the temple had been transformed into a center of merchandise and exploitation.

Today, many ministries are becoming:
* Fundraising centers
* Religious business systems
* Entertainment platforms
* Emotional manipulation arenas
* Celebrity empires instead of servant ministries

The spirit of merchandising has quietly entered many altars.

*THE DANGER OF GREED IN MINISTRY*
Greed is one of the greatest destroyers of genuine ministry.

A minister controlled by greed may eventually:

* Manipulate members
* Twist Scriptures
* Commercialize prophecy
* Exaggerate miracles
* Exploit vulnerable people
* Prioritize money above souls

Scripture warns clearly:
“For the *love* of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
— 1 Timothy 6:10

👉 _Hear this,_ Money itself is not evil. But obsession with money destroys spiritual purity and credibility.

👉 A minister should never build ministry around financial desperation.

*THE BIBLICAL MODEL: DIGNITY OF LABOR*
The early apostles understood the dignity of work and productivity.

*1. PAUL THE APOSTLE WORKED WITH HIS HANDS*
Paul planted churches, healed the sick, raised leaders, and wrote Scripture, yet he still worked as a tentmaker.

“Because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers.”
— Acts 18:3

Paul also declared:
“Nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day.”
— 2 Thessalonians 3:8
👉 Paul refused dependency mentality.

*2. JESUS WAS A CARPENTER*
Before public ministry, Jesus worked with His hands.

“Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary?”
— Mark 6:3
👉 There is dignity in honest labor.

*3. AQUILA AND PRISCILLA COMBINED BUSINESS WITH MINISTRY*
Aquila and Priscilla were kingdom-minded believers who combined productivity with ministry service.

“Aquila and Priscilla… stayed with them and worked.”
— Acts 18:2–3
They served God without laziness or dependency.

*4. GOD BLESSES THE WORK OF OUR HANDS*
The Bible says:
“Establish the work of our hands for us.”
— Psalm 90:17

Notice carefully: God blesses the work of our hands, not idleness disguised as spirituality.

*A REBUKE TO COMMERCIALIZED CHRISTIANITY*
Beloved ministers, hear this with humility and seriousness.

Turning every church service into endless fundraising is not ministry maturity.

Constant pressure on members through:

“Dangerous seed”
“Prophetic offering”
“Financial covenant”
“Breakthrough sacrifice”
“Emergency altar raising”

while refusing productivity and stewardship damages the credibility of the gospel.

The Bible says:
“We did not use flattering words, nor a cloak for covetousness.”
— 1 Thessalonians 2:5

The sheep belong to Christ—not to ministers seeking financial empires, if they give let it be willingly.

*TITHES AND OFFERINGS ARE HOLY*
Tithes and offerings are sacred kingdom resources.

They are meant for:
* Kingdom advancement
* Church administration
* Missions and evangelism
* Welfare and support
* Genuine ministerial needs

They were never intended for reckless luxury, greed, or financial abuse.

Scripture says:
“It is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2

👉 Ministers are stewards, not owners of God’s resources.

*MINISTERS MUST DEVELOP PRODUCTIVITY*
Every minister should strive to develop:
* Skills
* Financial wisdom
* Enterprise
* Leadership capacity
* Productive systems

There is nothing unspiritual about:
👉 Writing books
👉 Farming
👉 Teaching
👉 Running schools
👉 Consulting
👉 Media work
👉 Publishing

Ethical business ventures
As long as integrity remains intact.

A productive minister often ministers with greater freedom because desperation is absent.

*POVERTY IS NOT HOLINESS*
Some glorify suffering publicly while secretly manipulating members financially.

But poverty limits impact and weakens ministry effectiveness.

The Bible says:
“The hand of the diligent makes rich.”
— Proverbs 10:4

God is not glorified in irresponsibility, laziness, or financial disorder.

*A WORD TO YOUNG MINISTERS*
Young ministers, hear this carefully.

* Do not enter ministry because of money, popularity, titles, or public recognition.
* Build yourself spiritually and practically.

Develop:
👉 Prayer life
👉 Sound doctrine
👉 Financial discipline
👉 Integrity
👉 Leadership wisdom
👉 Productive skills

The future Church needs ministers who are:
👉 Spirit-filled
👉 Biblically sound
👉 Financially responsible
👉 Humble
👉 Ethical
👉 Disciplined

Prayer and productivity must walk together.

*A FINAL CALL TO REPENTANCE*
The Church must return to holiness, simplicity, integrity, and truth.

Let us stop:
* Commercializing anointing
* Selling prophecy
* Manipulating offerings
* Exploiting poor members
* Turning ministry into business empires

The gospel must remain pure.

👉 May God raise ministers who fear Him more than they love money.
👉 May our altars become houses of prayer again.
👉 May integrity return to the Body of Christ.
And may Christ alone be glorified.
“Shepherd the flock of God… not for dishonest gain, but eagerly.”
— 1 Peter 5:2

_Yours in Service,_
*Samuel Albert*
