To be eligible for admission into the ND Public Health programme, candidates must possess:
Five (5) credit passes in WASC, NECO, or GCE ‘O’ Level at no more than two (2) sittings.

The mandatory subject combination:

1. English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, and Physics.

2. Alternatively, an Environmental Health Assistant Certificate with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.50 from an accredited institution.

MAU YOLA GRADUATES 7,094, CONFERS HONORARY DEGREES ON 4 PROMINENT NIGERIANS

Modibbo Adama University, Yola has conferred certificates, diplomas, and degrees on 7,094 graduands, and honorary degrees on four prominent personalities in Nigeria, at its 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremony.

The occasion was well-attended by Dignitaries, including Governors, Politicians, Traditional Rulers, Spiritual Leaders, Professors, Vice Chancellors, Provosts, Registrars, Military Personnel, and Paramilitary Personnel from across Nigeria.

In a message, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Prof. Kabir Bala, former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, congratulated the graduands and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, stating that every Nigerian deserves higher quality education and an opportunity to serve the nation for greater prosperity.

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to tertiary education, highlighting initiatives such as NELFUND for students, TISSF for staff, and increased funding for capacity building.

The Federal Government also commended all the Unions in the tertiary education subsector for demonstrating great understanding, which culminated in the recent signing of agreements, beginning with ASUU, assuring a speedy conclusion of negotiations and signing agreements with other Unions in the Universities, in line with fairness and equity in managing industrial issues in the universities and all the tertiary institutions.

The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, praised MAU, Yola for its contributions to national capacity building, noting that many newly recruited staff in Adamawa State are products of the university. He promised to continue supporting the institution, including the construction of a 5-kilometer road within the university.

His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Etu, Executive Governor of Cross River State, emphasized the need for graduands to combine knowledge and values to build a better nation, stating that Nigerians are one and nothing will separate them as a country.

The Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, HRH Okuku Uwa Umoh Adiaka III, represented by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, congratulated the graduands and urged them to live up to the challenges of their times and unite to develop Nigeria.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Modibbo Adama University, Yola, His Excellency Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, advised the graduands to be sensitive to the interest of the institution by becoming innovators of positive change in their various communities and Nigeria at large.

In his speech, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, commended President Tinubu for promoting industrial harmony on campuses and facilitating access to tertiary education. He announced the establishment of three new faculties: Computing, Arts, and Communication and Media Studies.

The honorary degree recipients include Mallam Nuhu Ribadu (Doctor of Law), H.E. Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari (Doctor of Letter), H.E. Senator Prince Bassey Edet Etu (Doctor of Humanities), and H.E. Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa (Doctor of Management).

The highlight of the event was the jubilations by students, parent-group photographs, and many joyful activities, as the university celebrated a milestone achievement with 7,094 graduands, amidst a festive atmosphere of joy, and accomplishment.
