The Western Philippines University is an institution of higher learning based in Aborlan, Palawan, Philippines. It is recognized as a National University for Agriculture, National University for Fisheries, and Center of Excellence for Fisheries. It offers a wide array of diploma courses as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Western Philippines University was founded in 1910 as a Farm

Settlement School for the Tagbanua Tribe. In 1928, it was converted to Aborlan Agricultural High School (AAHS) where a full secondary curriculum was offered. In 1960, it became the Palawan National Regional Agricultural School (PNRAS) by virtue of RA 2619. Two years after, it became the Palawan National Agricultural School (PNAS). A year after that, in 1963, it was converted to Palawan National Agricultural College (PNAC) by virtue of RA 3648 which enabled it to offer various courses with BS Agriculture as its banner degree program. During this time, it opened the Bayanihan Schools in many parts of Palawan. The said program was widely heralded as the harbinger of development in communities where they were established. After three decades, PNAC became the State Polytechnic College of Palawan (SPCP) by virtue of RA 8012 in 1995. Technical and vocational courses were made available at SPCP. Finally, in 2004, SPCP became a university and was renamed Western Philippines University (WPU) by virtue of RA 9260. At present, WPU is a partner in development in Puerto Princesa City, Aborlan, El Nido, Taytay, Culion, Busuanga, Quezon, Rio Tuba, and Brooke's Point. WPU's more than one hundred years of existence in the Philippines was proven fruitful. It remains the leading knowledge center for sustainable development in the Province of Palawan, in the Philippines, and beyond!

The first leg of the fieldwork was conducted from April 13 to 27, 2026 in San Vicente, while the second leg followed from April 30 to May 8, 2026 in Inner Bay, Taytay. These activities focused on ecological surveys and collaborative research to strengthen marine resource governance in Palawan.

This was followed by her participation in the Southern Tagalog Islands Research and Development Consortium 14th Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Conference and Pitching Competition held at HTU Tiniguiban Campus.

She also attended the meeting of the Committee on Higher Technical and Special Education chaired by Hon. Winston Arzaga.
